EL BARRIO’S HUB
Station
A space that redesigns a fire station to embrace the relationship between fire fighters and the community in Harlem, New York. Public and private areas were created by implementing selective openess, and there is a distinction between a person might see based on where he/she is oriented at. The structure centers itself around the courtyard along with the curved roof which has an open ceiling in the middle, allowing access to natural sunlight. The roof also restricts sunlight within the structure to create a balance and distinct feeling between areas.
