Dear Friends, When the first Christel House learning center opened in Mexico City in 1998, my vision was breaking the cycle of poverty for impoverished children. I knew that education—delivered through a holistic model that included character development, meals, health care, social services and large measures of love—was and the only way these kids could build a better life. Twenty years later, the Christel House dream has grown to serve over 4,550 students in eight schools in India, Mexico, South Africa and the United States. The Christel House model works! Our kids are becoming self-sufficient, dignified and contributing members of society. Nothing speaks to success like hearing directly from our students. Tonight, you’ll meet Sindhu Kumari, a 2012 graduate from Christel House India. Now a successful businesswoman working at a top multi-national auditing firm with offices in Bangalore, Sindhu exemplifies the core values we teach at Christel House – respect, responsibility, integrity and independence. We are so proud to have her join us. As we celebrate twenty years of transforming lives, it is appropriate we look to the future. Our ninth school, Christel House Jamaica, will open in August 2019. A MESSAGE FROM SINDHU I am honored to join you tonight, representing Christel House students from around the world. My parents could not afford a quality education for me. But, they discovered Christel House and the education I received gave me an opportunity to lay my firm foundation. The teachers and staff played a huge role in the success I am today. Christel House has played an important role in helping thousands of children grow professionally and personally. Every time I visit Christel House India, I see students that are similarly inspired and driven versions of me.
