Dear Friends Welcome to the 2022 RCI Christel House Open! As the world continues to move towards more “normal” times, it is good to reconnect. During the past two years, I am grateful to have had a front row seat to witness the inspiring achievements of our schools around the world. Our students, teachers and staff have persevered through seemingly endless – and unpredictable – challenges created by the global health crisis. Despite those and many other hurdles, 98% of our students passed their graduation exams last year and 92% of our graduates are continuing to study or are employed. We are incredibly proud of them and their successes. As you tee off for this year’s tournament, I want you to know that we are grateful for your continued support. Successes like those mentioned above would not be possible without your help. The Christel House Open has raised more than $13.9 million since its inception in 2003. Those funds help provide life changing opportunities for children who are caught in the generational cycle of poverty and often overlooked by society. Dear Friends, Welcome to our 18th Christel House Europe open, a great day in the calendar and an ideal opportunity for meeting old friends and new. It has been 3 years since we were last together and although meetings have been held by Zoom, Teams and other methods we still miss the physical presence of meeting up in person. Many things have happened since we were last together. We lost our founder Christel de Haan in June 2020, but thanks to her legacy the schools remain supported and 100% of funds raised still go to the cause rather than any deductions for administration. We have a leadership team in place in Indianapolis that follow her ethos and her spirit and vision animate everything we do at Christel House. We have expansion plans in mind for the schools. Christel House South Africa has now expanded to take in younger children, Mexico has moved to larger premises, and we now have our school in Jamaica open and running despite the pandemic. Many people have continued to support us during the pandemic and do amazing things for us and to them a HUGE thank you.
