Chris Beetles is delighted to present a major selling exhibition of the work of Albert Goodwin RWS RWA (1845-1932). Trained by the Pre-Raphaelites and encouraged by John Ruskin, he became one of the most significant British landscape artists in the period following the death of Turner. A long career and many opportunities to travel enabled him to create a substantial and wide-ranging body of painting in both oil and watercolour. From the cathedral towns of England to the mountains of Switzerland, and from the cities of Italy to the hills around Cairo, he captured much of the beauty of the world with sensitivity and splendour.
