Our students and alumni have been recognized for their artistry both within our community and beyond, earning recognition from a multitude of local, state, and national arts organizations and acceptance into distinguished arts conservatories and colleges.

Our faculty of brilliant arts educators and teaching artists inspires our students through their expertise as active performers and creators.

They continually seek to hone their skills as arts educators through participation in notable programs such as Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero, the Arts and Passion-Driven Learning Institute, and professional development at The Juilliard School.

This year, we are thrilled to launch the North Broward Preparatory School Arts Academy, specifically designed to inspire and enable our careerminded artists to achieve their dreams and make a positive impact on the world.

We are also particularly proud of our groundbreaking collaboration with The Juilliard School. The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Program, enriches our performing arts curriculum and students’ learning with the artistic values, traditions, and expertise of Juilliard. We truly learn with Juilliard. Juilliard affiliated curriculum specialists, teaching artists and touring performers visit NBPS regularly, inspiring our school community through workshops, masterclasses, and performances.

Collaboration is essential to our culture. Our crossarts and arts-integration projects encourage the breaking down of walls between and among arts and academic disciplines, promoting innovative thinking and making learning more meaningful and memorable. Equally important are community collaborations through which we guide our students to use their creativity in community service, positively influencing the lives of others by sharing their time and talents.

ARTS ACADEMY We are excited to announce that North Broward Preparatory School will welcome its initial cohort of Arts Academy Musical Theatre and Music Majors beginning August 2019. Additional majors in Music and Dance will be added beginning August 2020.

The Arts Academy inspires tomorrow’s artists to make a positive impact on the world. We empower our career-minded artists with the dispositions and skills to achieve their goals beyond North Broward Preparatory School by focusing on artistic excellence; collaboration; entrepreneurship; and creative engagement with today’s audiences.

Arts Academy students train with professionals from our diverse faculty and staff to guest artists from top performing arts organizations. In addition to their academic schedule, students hone their skills and develop their unique artistic voice through their arts core classes and afterschool performances, productions, and competitions.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM The North Broward Preparatory School Fine Arts Department is proud to offer scholarships that reduce tuition fees for students who excel in the arts. Fine Arts Scholarships are available in Art, Dance, Media, Music, and Theatre. Scholarships are awarded based upon the applicant’s entrance audition, interview, and academic records. They are valid for all four years of high school, contingent upon continually meeting the scholarship criteria.

Need-based financial aid and academic achievement scholarships are also available.

JUILLIARD COLLABORATION A WORLD CLASS OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUR CHILD The Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Program is a multifaceted collaboration that brings The Juilliard School’s philosophies of teaching dance, drama, and music to our classrooms. The program seeks to inspire and equip students with the creativity, curiosity, and cultural literacy to engage with the performing arts throughout their lives.

Our school community enjoys inspiring benefits of the program such as Juilliard alumni and Juilliard-affiliated artist visits; Juilliard developed embedded curriculum; Juilliard presented professional development for our faculty; and Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard.

EMBEDDED CURRICULUM The program’s embedded arts curriculum features a Juilliard-curated repertoire of core works and categories that encompass a broad range of genres, styles, and cultures. Our students learn through engaging activities developed by Juilliard that help our students understand the language of the arts and develop creative skills such as improvisation and composition. Our outstanding teachers use the Juilliard Creative Classroom, an online resource of teaching materials, recordings, and videos that they can incorporate into their lessons to support your child in developing a deep understanding and engagement with the performing arts.

COMPOSITION CONTEST

Our students enjoy opportunities to ask Juilliard artists and alumni questions about the performing arts, and engage in challenges and competitions that develop skills such as collaboration, risk taking, resilience, and discipline.

VISUAL ARTS COMPETITION Visual artists from across our global family of schools create impactful art inspired by entries from the Nord Anglia Creative Writing Competition. The winning pieces are developed into a stunning anthology for our students to cherish as a memento of their work and that of their fellow students.

The Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival is a dynamic program for young actors, dancers, and musicians from our family of schools. Nord Anglia performing artists are inspired by performances, unique workshops, collaborative projects, and rehearsals led by talented performers, including world-renowned artists affiliated with The Juilliard School.

Nord Anglia composers create an original composition for the Nord Anglia Performing Arts Festival inspired by the UNICEF Global Goals: 10 - Reduced Inequalities, and 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institution. Compositions will be selected to be performed live at the event, and recorded to raise funds for international charity work.

PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR The competition aims to improve our students’ photography skills and develop their creativity as they endeavor to become the Global Campus Photographer of the Year. This contest encourages students to observe the world and environment from a different perspective.

SUMMER ARTS WITH JUILLIARD Summer Performing Arts with Juilliard offers immersive experiences in music, dance, and drama to students from around the world. With three tailored programs offered in Geneva, Florida, and Shanghai, students have a unique opportunity to engage with and learn from artist faculty from the Juilliard School, the world's leader in arts education.

This year, our visual artists will enjoy fun-filled, artistic, creative, and cultural experiences at our 2019 Faces of U.S. Art Festival trip to Washington, DC, visiting National galleries and institutes of art where they will participate in tours and workshops.

We are proud to offer a robust private lesson program that complements and enhances our classroom curriculum. Our students benefit from a broad range of private lessons available in music, dance, theatre, and art. With lessons scheduled either before, during or after school, our students develop their skills, technique, and artistry while accommodating their busy schedules.

Passionate about their art and teaching, our private lesson team is comprised of both full time North Broward faculty and adjunct teaching artists.

Throughout the school year we host regular private lesson recitals that afford our students quality opportunities to display their skills in a comfortable and supportive setting.
