In Our Community

During 2020 when we were unable to gather and celebrate, we marked the occasions with you in a new way. The annual Easter Egg Raffle was proudly distributed to local charities for disbursement throughout our community, via ‘The Food Pantry’, ‘The Staples Bag’ and ‘The Exodus Foundation’. We were grateful for their assistance in sharing these on our behalf. Anzac Day 2020 was commemorated in a new way, with CHP RSL getting behind the RSL NSW initiative, calling on people to demonstrate their ANZAC Spirit and ‘Light Up The Dawn’. We certainly ‘lit’ up the dawn at your Club, paying our respects on your behalf, with a performance for the neighbourhood of ‘The Last Post’ from the rooftop, and an amazing lighting display to be appreciated from afar, also shared digitally for the greater Community. The spectacular footage, along with an Anzac Day message from our CEO ‘Dean Thomas’ is available on our website https://www.chprsl.com.au/ Youtube

The Food Pantry CHPRSL is donating $10,000 to the Food Pantry hampers to support the most vulnerable people in our community. The Food Pantry is a low cost, food rescue grocery shop who rescue quality food & household products from being thrown into landfill and offer them to the community at affordable rates. The Food Hampers will be offered to those impacted by the financial stress of the COVID-19 pandemic. These include at-risk young people, people seeking asylum and international students who cannot access government payments, along with individuals and families who are struggling to pay the rent and buy groceries.
