VOLUME TWO
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to read through the catalog and ultimately show interest in not only the sale offering but our program. Raising livestock is something this operation and family takes very seriously and we hope that’s noticeable as you flip through the pages.
I tried to get my point across last year at the inaugural sale that the idea of an offering of this magnitude has always been in the back of my mind. Last year I finally felt like we were in a place to make it all work. Fortunately, last year’s sale was a huge success and we will forever be thankful to the bidders and buyers of our first ever live auction. I knew it would be very difficult to assemble a similar set quality and depth wise just one year later, but we have dug deep and been committed to this sale in an attempt to gain the attention of the most serious breeders.
I truly believe all of the lots in the offering could either be a great building block for anyone to start a program or a strong addition to anyone’s current arsenal. These lots have not only produced dollars and champions along the way, but several have generated stud boars or daughters that are making the next generations even better. We have strongly focused on just a few breeds and crosses over the last several years and been fortunate to have success in all of them. We hope this offering brings forth a wide variety of options for our customers and potential buyers.
As stated in last year’s catalog, there’s no doubt these females are shiny in their photos. Rest assured, they’ve been tested in the toughest environments, know how to do their jobs, and have a legitimate chance to carry on those traits to their new homes.
There’s no question the last couple of years have been very rewarding for our operation and the females being offered have played a strong role in that story. There’s never been more excitement within the swine industry than there is at this current moment. You never know what the impact one female or one bold decision can have on your herd. The time is now and the opportunity is here!
Thank you for taking the time to check out The Source.

Lot 1 is as impressive visually as you could ever ask for and brings forth a resume that’s hard to ignore. She’s bred to what I truly believe is still one of the absolute best in the business and there’s no reason she shouldn’t spark the interests of the most aggressive buyer. Bid with total confidence!
It’s never easy to dip into the heart of the herd and find a Lot 1, but it’s always necessary for the success of any sale. 1820X has been a special female from the start and her contributions will never go unnoticed. Her first litter generated big yields, highlighted by the $17,000 prospect we sold at Kings of the Hill in the fall of 2019. From there on, the flood gates were open and it seemed as if every pig she cranked out was a “high seller.” She generated over $200,000 in total sales, and a very long list of winners and boar pigs. More importantly, she’s made daughters that will carry on her tradition, including 2024X, which most recently made our $140,000 boar prospect who sold to Crossroads Genetics at Perfect Timing.

The spotted breed has been good to us over the last few years, but this sow, her daughters and their impact on our operation is what makes raising showpigs fun. 1812S’s dam originated from Rash and was one we absolutely had to have after she was Top 5 at Expo and Springfield. Lot 2 has not only generated big-time dollars, including her daughters, who have averaged over $6,000 and are already proving to be generators, but she’s also the mother of Van Wilder at Upperhand Genetics, who is quickly changing the spotted game siring winners at a very fast pace.
Lot 2 is incredibly stout featured, square built and agile off either end of her Skeleton. Her unique combination of bone, build and structural integrity will never go out of style. She’s legitimately a highlight within the spotted breed and this mating should be an absolute home run.

1813C is without question one of the most proven and influential sows within the Chester breed. Not only have her offspring been profitable but they have gone on to feed, win banners, and ultimately work for other Chester enthusiasts and boar studs. Lot 3 was a very successful show gilt but realistically, that was only the beginning. She’s responsible for champions at Expo, Springfield, Louisville, Phoenix, Oklahoma Youth Expo, and many more. Better yet, her daughters are following suit as they yielded the Champion Chester Barrow at all three major shows this summer. We think she’s far from done as her summer litter was highlighted by a $15,000 male pig and a gilt that’s already won several banners.
Simply put, Lot 3 is a unicorn and should never be for sale. Her impact on Team Sloan and the Chester breed will always be remembered. This is not your ordinary Chester sow nor an ordinary opportunity!

This painted-up sow has done a very consistent job at raising large litters of sell-able pigs that are fault-free and feed well for our customers. Her litter mate brother was one of our favorites in the summer of 2019 and won his division in the open barrow show at the MO State Fair. Her mom was one of our favorites for the time and was actually a litter mate to Money Talks who was at Moyer’s for several seasons.
1901X represents everything we try to assemble in our females in terms of build, maturity and structural integrity. Not only does her skeletal makeup provide mating flexibility, there’s no doubt in my mind Young Love is the perfect match for her new owner.

It didn’t take long to get an awesome photo of this particular sow. She’s a daughter of Throat Punch the Dirty Deal son we had for a few seasons who was a mate to the Division 3 champion Cross at San Antonio in 2019. Additionally, her mom is the Sharp Dressed Man sow that’s found in several pedigrees at our place. Here’s one of the younger females in the sale that’s already put together a stout resume! She’s made several jackpot winners, but her most notable win was the Reserve Market Hog at the 2022 Dixie National for Jadyn Sanford. As a bonus, Lot 5 usually farrows large litters with ease and milks like a Holstein cow.
Lot 5 is a wide built, broad chested female with good extension off both ends of her skeleton. Dropkick had a great run this past summer and this litter will be bred very similar to the Dixie National barrow. The expectations are high!

We have dug deep to make sure this isn’t your average bred offering and we think Lot 6 is proof of that. 1838C is not only a National Champion but she’s a litter mate to Custom Made. Correct, this female is the Jackson gilt from the summer of 2019 that was Supreme Champion at Expo and Reserve Supreme Champion at Springfield. The Made to Order mother that Yantis bred is still one I’ll never forget for her outlier pieces and Lot 6 mirrors that same image. She’s been a strong contributor here at Team Sloan and we’re now willing to give someone else the opportunity to own one of the best in the breed.

If Lot 7 doesn’t spark your interest, we may not have what you’re looking for. I absolutely love this sow and what she’s done for us during her career in Cameron. 1817X was a successful show gilt for the Mabry family in Iowa a few years ago and has been a “never miss” type female since. Her litters have been wildly profitable and fortunately, have experienced success on the big stages along the way. Her daughters are quickly becoming some of our absolute best. One in particular generated the Grand Barrow at the Missouri State Fair, the Fifth Overall Barrow at Minnesota Youth Livestock Expo and the Champion Open Barrow at the North Dakota State Fair this summer.
The belted LIU sow is a unique specimen and has all the extras you could ever ask for. Realistically, she should be able to stick around the farm as long as she wants. The ceiling is incredibly high here!

Lot 8 is a litter mate to the Champion Spot Barrow at Expo in 2021 as well as a full sib to the Champion Spot and Reserve Overall Gilt at Expo in 2020 who sold to Platt for $15,500. This particular sow raised one of our best spotted gilts this year that was purchased by Wintex.

Her litter mate brothers were Grand at the at the MO State Fair, Fifth Overall at the MN Youth Expo, and Grand at the ND State Fair Open Show. The mother here is a litter mate sister to the Reserve Heavy Dark Cross at San Antonio in 2021 and the grandmother is Raven which is Lot 7 in this auction.
End Game X Never Before
Lot 23 is not out there in any area but she’s fault free and has a very rectangular build. She’s round ribbed, has an awesome hind leg, and comes from an incredible litter. The possibilities are endless.
LOT 24
91-5 is a Backdrop daughter out of Lot 11 in this auction. Her mom and her mates have served viable options for genetic growth over the last few seasons here at the farm. There’s absolutely no doubt Backdrop has been one of the very best over the last few seasons and this gilt represents what he’s done well.
Backdrop X Dirty Secret
Lot 24 is short backed, muscular, and offers a neat look ahead of her blade. She has a dense hair coat and dark skin pigment while being square toed and upright on her pasterns.

OFFERING ONE-THIRD SEMEN INTEREST
What better way to spruce up the sale offering than a boar prospect out of Cinderella. It took $95,000 to own the undeniable Champion Cross Gilt at the 2021 Expo and we couldn’t have found a better partner to do it with. Cinderella has been far from normal. She’s not only been productive, but her offspring have been highly sought after and made it to the backdrop as well. Her first 15 pigs offered have grossed $245,000 and 152-2 is left in the chamber. It took twisting William’s arm
152-2 is wildly stout, dense, and has hair hanging off of every body part. He’s short backed, crazy necked, and is accompanied with a hip and hind leg that has no quit.
Quite Frankly X Kinda Big Deal X HMB 71
At triple the hammer price, the buyer becomes the sole owner of the pig, barrow or boar!
