A general guide:
LENGTH OF PROGRAM
Understanding the exact amount of quarter/ trimester units awarded for study abroad can be tough. Each foreign institution has their own way of doing things, as does each American institution we work with. But don’t worry! We can provide you with general guidelines to navigate the system.
• 1 semester credit is roughly equivalent to 1.5 quarter/trimester credits. One semester course is worth 3 semester credits or 4.5 quarter/ 5 trimester credits
• 10-12 weeks (quarter/trimester length)
• 12-24 semester credits are roughly equivalent to 18-36 quarter/trimester credits (For an exact number of credits, be sure to speak to your home institution, as some schools are more flexible with credits than others.)
• Spring semester options are available as well, but require the student to build a personal program that follows individual university dates and guidelines that match quarter/trimester deadlines
