MISSION STATEMENT
We exist to uphold the sanctity of human life by providing services that protect the unborn and empower individuals with the TRUTH to make healthy life choices.
Recently, I picked up my high school yearbook. Flipping through the pages I remembered a task assigned to us by the yearbook team Every graduate had to choose a quote for placement underneath their senior portrait. Mine was this:
For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under Heaven... a time to keep and a time to cast away Ecclesiastes 3:1-6
I believed, that was the most appropriate verse for that time I was ending my high school experience and endeavoring into college. The word of God is the same yesterday, today and forever, which is why I love it. It never goes out of season. Choices of the Heart is also in a season; one of casting away I'm writing this today to share some very exciting news
The Board of Directors and I are happy to announce that we are changing our name. Yes, we are setting aside Choices of the Heart after almost 30 years to take on a new identity. We are doing this for one purpose: to reach more abortion determined women This is the final issue of the Choices of the Heart newsletter.
We did a lot of research and received an overwhelming response from focus groups within our demographic of 18–24 yr olds More than 90% of those polled helped us in choosing our new name (and logo). Going forward we will now be known as True Women's Center.
True is an acronym It stands for testing, resources, and ultrasound exams Our first public reveal is this newsletter. Our patients will learn of the new name later this summer when the new website is launched, and the new sign outside our building is installed. We couldn't be happier with the new logo and imaging for our pregnancy center
Our donors will also have access to a new website, which will be launched after our benefit dinner in October. We are leaving some of the new reveal for the benefit dinner, so those of you who are monthly partners or underwriters, please continue to make your donations to Choices of the Heart. We wanted you to know now, so as not to cause any confusion when you see the new sign or hear the phone greeting.
Our mission statement has also been updated to reinforce our new branding: We exist to uphold the sanctity of human life by providing services that protect the unborn and empower individuals with the TRUTH to make healthy life choices.
The heart of our mission has not changed, it only beats stronger! Although our name has been altered, our commitment and care for the community has not The next issue of our newsletter will be TRUE NEWS!

*Kristin came to us with a ton of things stacked against her. She took a pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant. She kept everything to herself for a couple weeks. Kristin was terrified of what was happening She is only 15 years old and in 9th grade She felt like she was completely alone and had only one choice, which was to have an abortion.
Her initial decision: Kristin decided to tell her mom about the pregnancy and her mom agreed and set up an abortion for her. The day of her abortion came, she was sick and she rescheduled to come back for the abortion pill.
Fate intervenes: Again, the day of her appointment came and when she was on her way to the abortion clinic, she was so anxious because she was afraid of what she would see come out of her and did not think she could handle it Kristin told her mom she didn’t want to do it so they turned around. Kristin’s mom then went searching and found us online.
First call: When we spoke to Kristin on the phone, she was still determined to have an abortion. She decided to tell her boyfriend. He was surprised, but told her it was up to her.
A bit early: Kristin came in for her appointment here and she was able to unload all her feelings. Her frustrations, her fears, her apprehensions were all there Kristin started to feel conflicted in her decision to have an abortion. We discussed how we could come alongside her and help her with resources and support Unfortunately, when it was time for the ultrasound, she was a bit too early, and she needed to schedule another appointment for a rescan.
Unable to decide: When Kristin’s rescan-appointment came, she did not show up.
Rethinking: Two weeks later the phone rang, and it was Kristin. She never went through with the abortion and wanted to come back in to talk and to get that rescan
Talking it out: Once she was here, she was again able to talk through some of the fears she had regarding keeping the baby, such as missing out on being a kid, being alone in all of this, and not having her boyfriend around to help. We talked through a lot then went in for her ultrasound.
Truth revealed: Once the probe was put on her belly, instantly you could see this beautiful baby moving around, arms and legs moving, with a strong heart beating. Kristin stared in disbelief at what she saw Through her tears she whispered, “I can’t do this I am keeping the baby.”
Life SAVED: We brought Kristin’s mom and boyfriend back in to see the baby at this point and all 3 of them were smiling from ear to ear, while some tears of joy were shed. They were all on the same page and saw what a blessing this could be.
Love realized: It would be hard, but Kristin knew she had the support of a few people who really loved her No matter how many times Kristin planned to abort the baby, God made a way out. He had other plans for this child At this point in time, Kristin is almost due She is in her last trimester. They also found out that they will be having a beautiful baby GIRL! Kristin is embracing this new journey and is excited to meet her daughter soon

December 2022: NJ Attorney General issues a consumer alert against Pregnancy Centers- even though there has never been one claim made against any pregnancy center in the state.
January 2023: A consortium of pregnancy centers files an O.P.R.A request and a reason to show cause.
March 2023: NJAPC is formed (an association of pregnancy centers In NJ)
June 2023: Attorney General issues subpoenas to 2 NJ pregnancy centers- asking for 10 yrs of advertising documents & donor information
September 2023: NJ responds to O.P.R.A request- citing Cherry Hill Women’s Center and Planned Parenthood as their sources of Information.
October 2023: Congressman Josh Gottheimer publicly denounces pregnancy center work in a press conference in front of Lighthouse Pregnancy Center
April/May 2024: Gottheimer repeats these actions at 2 other centers in 2 counties outside of his district (Bergen County) and pledges to visit every center in the state
June 2024: Rita Reyes sends a rebuttal regarding Josh Gottheimer to NJ.com.
