It’s Baaaaack!!
Finally, after overwhelming requests from our donors, Choices has decided to bring back the annual Walk for Life. We have heard the appeal of many who loved past walks and want to do it again, but this time it’s going to be really different. Different in that it will be more fun, more family friendly, more competitive, and very PUBLIC!!! We are going to be taking our Walk for Life to the Ocean City Boardwalk. Yes, on June 10th we will be hosting our first BoardWalk for Life and Scavenger Hunt! This walk gives the family time to spend the day in Ocean City while at the same time saving lives. It will be a 2 mile stroll down the boardwalk starting from The Flanders Hotel on 11th and Boardwalk. Walkers can also win prizes. Prizes include a one night stay at the Flanders, 2017 Seasonal Ocean City Beach Tags, T-shirts, beach umbrellas and the list goes on. Check in will take place at the Flanders Hotel and begin at 9:15. Prize giveaways, worship, face painting and refreshments will also take place at the Flanders. In order to participate, walkers must register online or at our BoardWalk for Life Kickoff (see details inside). Free OC parking passes and walk t-shirts will be given to the first 100 walkers registered!! Although this sounds like it’s going to be a blast, don’t let the “where” be the motivation but rather the “why”. We walk so that we can continue our life saving work at Choices of the Heart. That work goes on every day because of faithful friends and events like this one. It broke my heart just one day before writing this when a grandmother I spoke to wept for the grandbaby her daughter aborted. She had nowhere to turn because that same daughter was contemplating suicide from the abortion experience. When I told her about the services Choices provides and that we do it for free; she was in shock. She had no idea places like Choices existed. She yelled out, “You mean to tell me you were here, and my daughter could have been helped? Why didn’t we know about you? It could have changed everything!” We finished the conversation with a prayer and a recommendation to her for post abortive counseling. Just one conversation, one office visit, one ultrasound screening and the lives of an entire family could have looked differently. Will you walk with us and see to it that Choices of the Heart is never limited in the number of lives that we can save? I hope to see you at the beach on June 10th!
