NJ MAKES A BOLD MOVE AGAINST PREGNANCY CENTERS

The state of New Jersey decided to make a bold move against pregnancy centers when on December 7th 2022, the Department of Consumer Affairs, issued a consumer alert regarding pregnancy centers In summary, pregnancy centers were targeted and classified as deceptive This is an aggressive assault on the work our ministries provide to many in the community Here's an excerpt from the consumer alert;

The Division of Consumer Affairs also issued a consumer alert today warning the public that crisis pregnancy centers do not provide abortion care, and that they may not even provide any health care at all.

The alert further warns consumer that many CPCs do not employ licensed medical professionals This means that CPC staff may not be required to keep patient health information private or follow medical ethics rules and standards of care CPCs may also provide false or misleading information about abortion including the physical and mental health effects of abortion to deter people from choosing abortion.

A group of centers in the state including Choices of the Heart have hired an attorney to represent us in getting a retraction from the attorney general's office We are also requesting any documentation that may have given them reason to issue these public statements of defamation

Continue to pray for the pregnancy centers in NJ We are doing our best to stand tall and walk in God's love as we fight yet another battle to save innocent lives

My journey in pregnancy center work started in the early 90’s My experiences inside the doors of the pregnancy center have been life changing. There is never a day where I regret making this my life’s work The lives affected for Christ and the kingdom often take my breath away.

Even with all the good that I know we do here, there are still many who would see that it comes to an end In fact, in 2019 alone NJ pregnancy centers provided over $3 million in free medical and material services to over 35,138 women, men, and families*. Yet the state of NJ chooses to make public claims against this good work This is just another weak attempt by the enemy to distract us from the real battle. We will not be moved.

A PASTOR'S CALL

Nothing can really prepare you for an unexpected call from a local pastor seeking help. Thankfully, I had a long history and friendship with this pastor so, getting the call during our Christmas break did not phase me He had a congregant who was facing a life-threatening crisis and was being advised by physicians to abort.

We had no time to wait for a scheduled appointment as the abortion was scheduled in 48 hrs. She was willing to meet, but it had to be that afternoon The meeting with her was intense She had so much going on in her life and no one was giving her or the baby a chance. The best decisions aren’t always easy ones. After much prayer, weeping and self-sacrifice she chose to see the pregnancy through to the end She committed herself to trusting God with her baby and her life, no matter what the outcome.

I received a call from her a few weeks later. She had miscarried. She was grieving her baby but thankful that she gave God control over her circumstances We are working through the grieving process We are standing together with her pastor and church family as they support her in this time of mourning.

Unify: improve and strengthen the relationship between the church and the local pregnancy center to provide critical resources.

WHO IS SETH GRUBER?
