Is Abortion a Sin? Is abortion a sin? Absurd as that sounds to many of us whose vocation is pro-life work, that’s exactly what was asked by Joy Behar to Pastor Carl Lentz during an episode of The View. What was more absurd: his response. Pastor Lentz gave the most politically correct answer he could muster, and left the question open ended. He was thrown a soft ball and had the chance to hit it out of the park. In his fear of losing the approval and admiration of men, he struck out.

The studio audience cheered. The Church wept.

During our annual gala this year, we aired two video testimonies of clients who came to us considering abortion, and BOTH were professing Christians. Christians tend to be shocked by the statistic that 250,000 Evangelicals abort each year. It should not be shocking when we have pastors leading us who refuse to address abortion for what it is: the destruction of life; life that Scripture clearly defines as beginning at conception.

One of the most challenging parts of my job is getting churches to support our ministry.

In fact, only 2% of our entire budget comes from church giving. In January we will run our baby bottle campaign, and we will have a presence in many churches. Some of them will make mention of us and the bottles, others will give us five minutes to address the congregation, and a small percentage of others will give us the pulpit for the entire service. If your church has not considered Choices of the Heart and our mission to protect the unborn, consider becoming a church liaison. Church liaisons help us save lives by introducing their congregation to a ministry who provides a local response to this national dilemma we call abortion.

In closing, I cannot overstate the need to pray for our pulpits in America and around the world. Pray for wisdom in our church leadership. Pray that God would raise up an army whose swords are not dull but rightly divide the Word and preach the Gospel of Christ, not the gospel of popularity.

Winter 2017

Sixteen years ago, Rita was invited to speak about abortion at the pulpit of one of our supporting churches. One of the women attending was planning to abort her baby the very next day.

Because of the message, she chose life for her baby, and Rita had the privilege of meeting her 16-year-old son last year.

2017 Gala Results Close to 500 people came together on October 26th to raise funds for our next year of ministry and to be encouraged with stories, testimonies, special music, a ministry update, and our keynote speaker, Gov. Mike Huckabee.

We want to thank everyone who attended and made the decision to support Choices of the Heart financially. With your help, we reached our fundraising goal for the evening! Thank you!

Based on trends from 2017 and our plan for increasing our hours on the mobile unit in 2018, our projected client reach will increase another 30% this coming year! Since all our services are provided free of charge, when our client traffic increases, so do our expenses. Wondering how you can get EVERYONE in your church involved to make a difference in the Pro-Life movement?

The Baby Bottle Campaign is the answer! By simply filling a bottle with spare change, bills, or checks, each person, no matter their age, will be making a direct impact on women experiencing unplanned pregnancies in THEIR OWN community!

It’s easy! All the materials you need to run a successful and organized campaign will be provided for you. Many churches plan the campaign near Sanctity of Life Sunday, which is January 21st this year, but we will work with your church’s calendar. We just need a point person, or Church Liaison, to help plan the details of the campaign. We’ll walk you through the entire process!

Creating a New Generation of Believers From the time our layette delivery team set foot into the house, the new mom would not stop singing our praises! Madelyn* was so thankful and blessed by the many times she was contacted

by Choices just to see how she was doing. Before her beautiful daughter was born, she struggled with anxiety throughout the pregnancy and needed the extra encouragement.

Madelyn was extremely friendly, and the team spent more time than usual talking with her and listening to her stories. She said she was Catholic, but never went to church. She didn’t know if she was going to heaven or how to be saved. Once the team went through the plan of salvation with her, she made the decision to pray and receive salvation!

The team gave her a Bible and a few other resources to get her started on her new journey with the Lord , and they even had the opportunity to lead Madelyn and her 3 year-old in a prayer of blessing for their family before they left. Because we shared the gospel with this new mom, she now has a life-saving gift to share with her children as well. *Name was changed for confidentiality.
