New Missionaries Commissioned New missionaries were appointed and commissioned at the 2023 Convention & General Assembly, continuing the important work of walking alongside the local church globally.

FROM THE REGIONS Europe-Middle East In 2023 our teams continued to offer support, encouragement, and connections to Ukrainians who have been impacted by the war.

• Daniel and Christy Kihm (missionaries to Europe and the Middle East) have worked with the Hungarian Church of God to deliver supplies into Ukraine.

Costa Rica

Southeast Asia

• Patrick and Jamie Nachtigall (missionaries to Italy) have visited, and hosted, two young refugees who have been displaced and lost loved ones in the war.

• Russian speakers Alejandro and Carmen de Francisco (missionaries to Spain) visited a young refugee family living in the United States as they traveled through Iowa while on home assignment.

• Nate Tatman (regional coordinator) visited a refugee in Germany who has started a church for Ukrainians living in his adopted home city.

Asia-Pacific On the edge of the rural town of Walhaputenna, land was cleared to make way for a new church, the Jesus Is Lord Gospel Prayer House. This is the first of three churches to be built by the Church of God in Sri Lanka as they celebrate 3 decades of ministry. We rejoice with the leadership of the church in Sri Lanka: Rev. Chrisantha De Silva, Rev. Danyan Daniel, Rev. Lesley Kanakaranthne, and missionaries Peggy and Steven Beverly. This small congregation is in a Buddhist-majority nation that is hostile to churches being built in rural locations.

Caribbean-Atlantic The Church of God Hospital in Haiti continues to support over 1,000 patients per month despite the violent unrest. Even though Mark and Kathy Fulton aren’t able to be on the ground in Haiti because of instability, the hospital continues providing services in under-resourced communities with Haitian doctors and staff.

Today we are grateful to walk alongside 14 students from 10 countries who are currently benefiting from the program, knowing that together we are investing in building the church for generations to come.

Africa More than twenty countries in sub-Saharan Africa are home to 120 million French-speaking people. Now, with the blessing of the All-Africa Assembly, Larry and LeAnn Sellers have officially launched ministry to Francophone Africa. The Church of God currently works in Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Côte d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso.

Larry and LeAnn have begun Church of God doctrinal training in Rwanda and the DRC, and will begin exploring opportunities to enter other French-speaking areas in partnership with African leaders.

Native American Ministries The Pass Creek Church welcomes hundreds of volunteers each summer to provide VBS and local community projects to support the Lakota tribe.

Latin America Theological education continues to grow in Latin America as representatives from several countries have come together to promote greater cooperation.

The Church of God Theology Training project has allowed Global Strategy donors to partner with the Interamerican leadership team to provide financial

Transformation Story: We’re committed to walking alongside the local church beyond immediate relief and into long-term recovery and restoration. Consider the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that rocked southern Haiti in August 2021. Over 2,000 lives lost, 137,500 homes damaged, and over half a million people left in dire need of humanitarian aid. Two Church of God buildings were destroyed and many believers lost all belongings.

Chashma Hayat has listeners who are from different communities, many are from the Muslim, Hindu, and Sikh communities. This program is in the Urdu language, which is the national language of Pakistan, but is also widely spoken in India, Bangladesh, and the United Arab Emirates. Initially, Chashma Hayat programs consisted of everyday life topics, however, many people commented with questions and considerable interest to know more about the Holy Bible and what it says. Thus, we have begun an additional Bible study program walking through the Bible. Many Muslim men and women have been sending prayer request messages, asking for prayer for healing, jobs, children, and even freedom from witchcraft.

Thank you on behalf of the Christians Broadcasting Hope Spanish-speaking team for all your support to carry out this call to evangelize the nations. How grateful to God we are to know that during this year we have been able to impact so many people. Every day we have between 40 and 50 people who write to us telling us how blessed they are by the CBH program. This is about 1,500 people a month.

They ask us for prayer for a myriad of reasons, such as: marriage problems, health problems, financial problems, employment needs, and very often because they want to give their hearts to Jesus Christ.

Chashma Hayat has become a river of life for people in this part of the world who have nowhere else to go for spiritual and everyday life questions.

A sizable community is being formed through this effort of those who want to know the truths of God’s message and how they can be freed from their bondages. Currently, there is a considerable following for the devotional programs and for the Bible study programs. Many of these listeners are becoming followers of Christ even though they are not openly confessing the Christian faith–but they are coming to learn and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ for themselves.

It is our goal and prayer that the unreached will hear the message of Christ through Chashma Hayat and become disciples of Jesus Christ. May God bless Chashma Hayat and may God bless Christian Broadcasting Hope and all who help make this effort possible.

Take, for example, the impact of the broadcast on the life of Omar Flechas from Bogotá, Colombia. His wife contacted us telling us that her husband had tried to kill himself because he had been unemployed since the pandemic began, and he has three children and his wife to support. Because of the suicide attempt he was taken to the hospital. We got in touch with Omar to follow up and, thankfully, God helped us restore Omar’s desire to live. We were also able to connect two of our pastor friends from Bogotá to pay attention to him and meet any need he had. We want you to know how important your help is on this mission and how God is using your offerings and prayers to transform the lives of many.
