Meadowmont Village Chapel Hill, NC

Driving into Chapel Hill, from Highway 54 and Interstate 40, you’ll come upon an area known as Meadowmont, a hospitality corridor that is home to 300 hotel rooms, a 25,000 square foot conference center, dozens of restaurants, including the award winning Bin 54, a golf course, entertainment pubs, coffee houses and walking trails.

Meadowmont is located just off Raleigh Road/Highway 54 in Chapel Hill, across from the Friday Center, minutes from UNC-Chapel Hill and Interstate 40. The Raleigh-Durham Airport is fifteen miles away and Duke is twelve miles away. The Finley Golf Course just around the corner, as is East 54 retail complex, and Glen Lennox, both known for some of the best restaurants in town. Meadowmont, built in 1999, is an interconnected community that mirrors history with its narrow, tree-lined streets and old stone walls. The 435 acres of land used for the Meadowmont development was originally owned by the DuBose family, and the family’s entire estate originally encompassed 1,250 acres. David St. Pierre DuBose and Valinda Hill DuBose built what is now known as “The DuBose House” in 1933. Mrs. DuBose

named their home Meadowmont because it was built at the top of a hill and was surrounded by meadows below. The house still sits in its original location. At 20,000 square feet, the home is a magnificent example of the Georgian Revival houses of the interwar period, and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A tribute to its namesake, the Meadowmont community is a studied reflection of Southern hospitality and grace and Meadowmont Village is always just a short walk away. Restaurants include Brixx Pizza, Cafe Carolina and Bakery, Chronic Tacos, Fusion Fish and numerous retail, fitness facilities, salons, spas and healthcare. Check it out: meadowmont.net/village
