On June 22nd, Virginia Youth Soccer Association hosted the 2024 Annual General Meeting in Alexandria, Virginia.
A record number of member clubs attended the annual meeting. Thank you to all member representatives and the VYSA Board of Directors who attended this year’s AGM.
VYSA also hosted a strategic planning session for member clubs and leagues.
A new mission, vision, and core values have been established. Additional feedback will be generated from the membership over the next several months to create a strategic plan to help chart the future of youth soccer in Virginia for the next several years.
The focus of this planning effort is to create strategic initiatives that support the needs of players, families, coaches, referees, clubs, and leagues.
Congratulations to the Virginia Youth Soccer member clubs that had teams competing at the USYS Eastern President's Cup in West Virginia
Virginia had fifteen (15) teams represent the state at the USYS Presidents Cup Regionals from June 14-18 Teams played hard from the start of their first group play matches all the way through to the final rounds of regionals. Congratulations to Virginia Valor FC 2009G White for bringing home the regional title! Arlington SA 20011G Blue and Loudoun Pre-ECNL G12 Black were both finalists!

Goalkeepers from across different states gathered in Fredericksburg, VA, for the inaugural Virginia Keeper Wars City Tour. Over 90 young athletes participated in the tournament for a chance to earn a spot at the USYS Keeper Wars Ink National Championships.
U.S. Soccer is conducting a research project in collaboration with Northwestern University. The purpose of the project is to learn about parents' reasons for enrolling their children in soccer
The information gathered from your participation will help the US Soccer Federation promote soccer’s popularity in the United States by highlighting the benefits of playing and participating in soccer. More interest in soccer will lead to easier access to play, elevation of the standard of play in the United States, and a number of physical, cognitive, and psychosocial benefits for those who choose to play soccer.
If you participate in this research project, the data submitted will be anonymously analyzed and will be used for research purposes only.

The Coach For Community (C4C) is a FREE two-hour course that is designed to help prepare entry level coaches with practical and theoretical knowledge. This course is conducted by a qualified US Soccer/VYSA Coach Educator and can be requested by VYSA member clubs at the U6, U8, U10 and/or U12 levels.
