CHLOE WADE 4th Year Architecture Student
As a designer, I make an effort to explore designs through innovative techniques and an awareness of sustainability. I aim to translate the impressions and personal interpretations of architecture and the built environment into my work. To me, architecture reflects an understanding of our shared responsibility to humanity, and the most meaningful architecture is that which serves people, place, and future generations through the designer’s vision. Each project incorporates lessons drawn from my academic growth, hands-on experiences, and the environments I engage with, continually striving toward design that is impactful. This portfolio is a collection of that process and exploration.

As the president of Students of New Urbanism, I helped revive the organization by rebuilding it from the ground up and reestablishing its mission within the college. The club centers on New Urbanist principles such as, human-scale design, sustainability, and community-oriented planning. My primary focus was creating an inclusive, interdisciplinary space by inviting students from all disciplines within the Gibbs College of Architecture to participate, fostering collaboration beyond individual majors.

Design Located on Rome, Italy
Located at the historic Mattatoio di Testaccio in Rome, this project reimagines an industrial site as a vibrant hub for community, learning, and exchange. Set between the neighborhood of Testaccio and Monte Testaccio, the design weaves a continuous ribbon-like form across the site, creating interconnected gardens, plazas, recreation fields, and gathering spaces. Together, these outdoor rooms encourage everyday interaction through activities like bocce, soccer, and performances, blending architecture with landscape into a unified public experience.

THIRD YEAR - 1ST SEMESTER 2025 Boathouse Design Located on Lake Thunderbird, Norman OK
The Lake Thunderbird Boathouse is shaped by the site’s natural topography and relationship to water. Responding to the flood-prone shoreline, the design integrates swales and terraces to direct stormwater away from the building while filtering it back into the lake. Heavy timber framing expresses both structural strength and warmth, grounding the first level while supporting a cantilevered second story that extends over the water. This balance between land and lake creates a sequence of spaces that celebrates movement, shelter, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

.03 SUMMER INTERNSHIP 2025 Three-track Secondary School with Sports Hall in Heidesee-Friedersdorf
FLOWERS IN THE MEADOW
The design for the Heidesee Secondary School is inspired by the surrounding landscape rather than architectural precedent. Drawing from the area’s forests, lakes, and agricultural fields, the building is organized as a series of pentagonal learning clusters that create a flexible composition of indoor and outdoor spaces. The arrangement defines entrances, frames a central school courtyard, and establishes the sports hall as an independent volume for both school and community use. Timber construction reinforces the cluster concept, while a folded green roof allows the sports hall to blend seamlessly into the natural landscape.
