Chamber President, Mike Jordan, Announces Retirement

After 25 years of leading the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, President Mike Jordan has announced he will retire by the end of the year. “Over the past 25 years, it has been a privilege and a pleasure to work for an outstanding organization in a great community,” Jordan said. “I’m proud of what we have been able to accomplish over the years and the direction our community is going.” Jordan joined the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber in May of 1997, after serving four years as the Vice President of Economic Development at the Davenport Iowa Chamber. Board Chair Amy ForcierPabst commented, “This announcement is bittersweet. Mike has done an exceptional job leading and growing the Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, developed an outstanding staff, and has prepared the Chamber well for the next chapter. The entire board appreciates all he has done and wishes Mike and his wife Carol, all the best in retirement.”

The Chamber Board has formed a committee to conduct a national search for its next president.

NETWORKING & EDUCATION

Connecting Students With Our Local Business Community

One of the Chamber’s goals is to provide students and businesses the opportunity to connect with each other during the students’ formative educational years. To accomplish this, the Chamber organized three tours for Chippewa Falls Middle School students, highlighting different industry sectors within Chippewa Falls. These tours offered students an immersive experience at different industries while encouraging them to consider how their current and future education helps them pursue a career they are passionate about following their graduation. Students experienced the new culinary tour at River Country Co-Op, 29 Pines Restaurant, and Sleep Inn & Suites. Students discovered the intricacy and importance of the manufacturing industry while touring Advanced Laser Machining and Wisconsin Metal Fab. Finally, students toured a local farm with the Chippewa County Land Conservation & Forest Management crew, where they learned more about the different careers in agriculture, forest management, and land conservation. Each tour day ended with lunch and activities at Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC). Students received hands-on activities relating the CVTC educational departments to the focus of their tour. If you are interested in being a host for one of the tours, contact michelle@chippewachamber.org or call (715) 723-0331.
