Chi Omega Chapter Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®
TheChiOmegaChapterofAlphaKappaAlphaSorority,Incorporated, locatedinRockyMount,NorthCarolina,hasproudlyservedNashand Edgecombe Counties for over 98 years. Our chapter was chartered on December 19, 1925, by Soror Anna Easter Brown with assistance from Soror Jessie B. Thornton. With over 163 active members today, Chi Omega Chapter remains a leading force in the community, known for promoting high scholastic achievement, active social service participation, and a steadfast commitment to "Service to all Mankind."
Chi Omega donated two trees to Bea Holman Park in Rocky Mount, NC.
We also participated in Arbor Day and received recognition from the city of rocky Mount.

Chapter Retreat
Initiated into the Tau Gamma chapter at North Carolina Wesleyan University in 2021, Soror Delicia Harrison’s dedication to Chi Omega is evident in her active participation in chapter events. She regularly volunteers at events and is deeply involved with Gen-Next.
Soro Rosa Brodie was initiated into our chapter in 1974 and has proudly served the sorority for 50 remarkable years, earning her the distinguished status of Golden membership!
Soror Annette Walker has dedicated over 35 years of exemplary service to our sorority, earning her the distinguished title of Silver Star! She currently serves as the chairman of the Membership Committee, and performs her duties with unparalleled excellence!
Soror Paula Jones, a cherished and devoted member of Chi Omega since her initiation in 1992. Paula’s unwavering commitment and active involvement have made her a cornerstone of our chapter’s success.
Soror Nia Barner was initiated into the Tau Gamma Chapter at North Carolina Wesleyan University in the Spring of 2021 and has become an integral part of our chapter. She serves as the Chairman of the Gen-Next Committee and is an active member of the Publicity Committee.
Soror Leticia Macon has been a devoted sister since her initiation into Chi Omega in 2004, and has dedicated herself to serving all mankind with grace and purpose. She is a co-chair for the Building Economic Wealth Initiative and actively contributes to the Fundraising Committee and the CHIPP program.
Serving as our esteemed Chapter Basileus, Soror Davida Jones’ commitment to our sisterhood is nothing short of inspiring. In addition to her role as President, she is an active member of the Pink and Green Cotillion Activities Committee and the Graduate Advisor Council.
Soror Travella Sellers-Wilkins has served the sorority for over 30 years. She dedicates her time and efforts to the Sisterly Relations and Membership Committees. She was also a a recipient of the "Sisterliness of The Year" award in 2023.
In 2023, Soror Nekia Lyons was honored with the Clara M. Hines, Humanitarian and Caring Sister Award, a testament to her selflessness and dedication to serving others. Initiated into the Chi Omega Chapter in 2011.
Soror Terry Anderson is the driving force behind our Chi Omega Mentor/Mentee program, Terry has played a pivotal role in fostering meaningful connections within our sisterhood, guiding both new and seasoned members with wisdom and care.
