CHINOWTH & COHEN REAL ESTATE ACADEMY TRAINING COURSE POLICY

The objective of this course is to help prepare class members for the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission license examination and subsequent career development. The following information is provided to help your attendance in our courses to be a pleasant and academically beneficial experience. Your instructors can provide clarification or elaboration on any of the information contained herein.

CONDUCT AND APPEARANCE

For your comfort, breaks will be scheduled approximately once every hour. No tobacco smoking (including electronic or vapor cigarettes) is permitted in the building or classroom, before class, while class is in session, during breaks, or after class. Snacks and drinks are permitted in the classroom (no alcoholic beverages). We ask that you dress comfortably and modestly in a fashion that is not a distraction to other class members. Instructors shall attempt to maintain classroom order and decorum conducive to a positive and productive learning environment. Any class member causing a breach of classroom order and decorum shall be subject to an immediate enrollment cancellation as provided herein. Our training courses are designed for, and attendance is limited to, licensed individuals and persons eligible for licensing by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission (minimum 18 years of age).

TARDY ARRIVALS OR EARLY DEPARTURES AND ABSENCES

You may arrive as early as a quarter of an hour before scheduled class time. You must attend the entire class meeting to receive credit for the class. Partial credit is not available. If you arrive late or leave early, you may gain information helpful to you study, but you will not receive any credit for partial attendance of any class meeting. Regarding absences, we may present make up class meetings, but if a class member has absences, they must reregister for a future course, if one is available.

GRADING STANDARD and FEES

You are expected to complete assigned reading, activities, and any self-assessment questions in a timely fashion. Your attendance and the course final examination are the only formal assessments of your successful completion of a course. Attendance of the entire course and successful completion of the final examination with a score of seventy-five percent (75%) or better is the grading standard, as required by law. You shall be allowed three hours to complete each course exam attempt. If more than one attempt of the course exam is necessary, you will not be charged for additional attempts. You will be allowed a thirty-minute review of your scored exam for accuracy and discussion only (no notes, pencils or recording instruments of any kind shall be allowed during reviews). You may not attempt the course exam more than once per day and you may not reattempt the course exam on the same day that you review a scored exam. You will have up to six months to complete course and pass course exam. Additional administrative fees apply for duplicate or replacement certificates of completion. Records will be maintained for five years.

INCLEMENT WEATHER AND OTHER UNFORSEEABLE EVENTS

Class meetings may be cancelled occasionally due to inclement weather or other unforeseeable events. The academy will close if Bixby Public Schools is closed for inclement weather. Make-up dates will be announced as necessary.

AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDERS

To encourage class member participation and minimize any student’s reluctance to participate, we ask that you refrain from using audio or video recorders in class.

SECURITY CONSIDERATIONS

Every reasonable effort is made for security during class, but we ask that you adequately monitor personal possessions. The instructors and staff cannot be responsible for loss or theft.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Tuition and fee payments may be made in the classroom to instructors in the form of check, money order or credit card. Additionally, payments may be made to office staff by special arrangement. An administrative fee of twenty dollars will be charged on any checks returned unpaid from a financial institution.

ENROLLMENT CANCELLATION

Enrollment may be cancelled by written notification prior to First Course session. Refunds are subject to a non-refundable registration fee of up to ninety-five dollars.

OKLAHOMA REAL ESTATE COMMISSION APPROVAL

These courses are approved by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission and are offered consistent with their rules and requirements If you have been convicted of any crime, or if charges are pending, or if you have delinquent unpaid child support or unpaid student loans or delinquent state income taxes, please check with the Real Estate Commission before enrolling in a license course. The Commission may allow you to seek pre-approval prior to enrolling in a license course.
