DEVELOPMENT SERVICES: CODE ENFORCEMENT CODE CASES: OPENED Code Enforcement opened an estimated 35 new cases during June, with 69 individual violation items documented across those cases. Several properties had multiple violations listed, which accounts for the difference between the number of cases opened and the total number of violation items. The majority of new violations were related to duty to maintain premises, overgrown weeds or noxious plants, rubbish, trash, debris, and inoperable vehicles. These categories represented the primary code enforcement activity for the month and reflect continued staff focus on visible property maintenance issues throughout the community.
CODE CASES: CLOSED
Code Enforcement closed 48 cases during June. The largest share of closed cases involved weeds and property maintenance, which accounted for approximately 71 percent of the cases closed during the month. Other closed case categories included lighting complaints, trash and debris, vehicle, trailer, and RV related issues, business license or home occupation concerns, and general complaints. The average case was open for approximately 39 days, with a median of 34 days, showing that most cases were resolved within roughly one month.
