DEVELOPMENT SERVICES COMMUNITY COLLABORATION & PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS Development Services, with the assistance of several Town Councilmembers, has been meeting with local stakeholders throughout the community to strengthen partnerships and identify opportunities for improvement. Through these conversations, the Town is working collaboratively to develop more efficient processes, improve communication, and streamline the development experience. By listening to feedback and working together, we're committed to making interactions with the Town of Chino Valley smoother, more transparent, and more customer-focused for everyone involved.

PUBLIC WORKS - STREETS

28 tons of potholes repaired using cold mix asphalt.

12 tons of asphalt produced in-house using the Town's new asphalt recycler to repair heavily damaged sections of Perkinsville Road.

Repaired a stop sign and speed limit sign to maintain safe roadways.

Graded M.A. Perkins Road, Wendigo Road, and Perkinsville Road.

Completed 1 Chino Valley Connected (SeeClickFix) work order.

Hauled approximately 300 tons of asphalt millings from the ADOT yard for future roadway maintenance projects.

Cleaned drainage ditches along Bright Star Boulevard to improve water flow.

Featured Project: The Streets Division put its new milling machine into service for the first time on Perkinsville Road, marking another step toward completing more roadway maintenance projects efficiently using Town-owned equipment.

PUBLIC WORKS - FLEET GENERAL ACTIVITY Fleet has had an average of 4 work orders per day for the month.

40% of the work orders were repairs.

60% were PM’s (Preventive Maintenance) The percentage of PM’s moved down this month. Repair Work Orders were up.

This was partly due to multiple Risk work orders.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Recently Fleet decided to place extra focus on safety. This worked out well with findings in storage and machine guarding. Our safety Representative found these areas needed attention and they were addressed.

New second tire sorting/storage rack. In recent month we have looked at reducing our “on hand tires” as we noted that some tires did not move onto vehicles quickly. We auctioned multiple tires and removed tires from inventory if they sat too long. We decided that checking dates and sizes and dates was difficult with tires stacked or leaned. We tested a rack and decided to add another.

This new rack will reduce the chance of injury and make inventory and date checking easier.

Fleet personnel attended training on diesel engine diagnostics.

The class was in person and local. Feedback on the class and its content was good.

This will help Fleet personnel move towards reaching their training goals for the year.

METRICS Fleet closely tracks PM compliance. This is defined as: the percentage of the total Fleet that is not overdue for service.

Our goal was 80% PM compliance. We beat that goal last month and we have done it again in June!

We will now adjust our goal to 90% PM compliance and work to maintain it.

We are proud of the work we have done on this critical metric. This metric is critical because when PM compliance goes up, breakdowns and unscheduled repairs go down. This saves all departments time and money.

PUBLIC WORKS - WATER JUNE UPDATE Repaired damaged fire hydrant on Rd 2N and Rd 1E. Annual maintenance on booster pumps at Country West.

Replaced soft start on Bright Star Well pump.

PUBLIC WORKS - WASTEWATER JUNE UPDATE Cemetery operations – Grave opening (06-01-26) Scarified recharge basins to improve percolation rates.

Met with Parks and Disc Golf committee to discuss impacts of new course on WRF. Blower 5 failure – ordered new VFD. Electrician and Integrator on-site to diagnose fine screen controls.

Vegetation removal from WRF grounds.

Replaced level transducer on fine screen 1.

Removed grease from lift station.

Preventative maintenance on blowers.

Placed gravel bedding along the west side of the basin for improved drainage control.

Cemetery Operations – Grave opening/closing (06-18-26) Vegetation removal from recharge basins. *** Note on Cemetery Operations: Parks is responsible for maintaining the cemetery grounds. Grave opening and closing is performed on a rotating basis by certified Public Works employees from the Water, Wastewater, Streets, and Parks divisions. ***
