PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Members I am excited to announce that CSC has gone mobile! The CSC mobile application was launched on 5 August 2017. This move will exponentially widen the Club’s network with premier social and recreation clubs worldwide. The app is available for free on both iOS and Android platforms. I am proud to announce that CSC is the first Club in Singapore to launch our app on the OneClubNet platform. With the app, members would receive instant club news, event updates and club offerings. The app is intended to be inclusive whereby members of the public can also download the app and access general club information. We are also glad to share that there will be more features to come on stream. To serve our members better, we are currently looking into booking of facilities via the app. Club members may also look forward to exclusive access to privileges and offers from our co-branding partners. The 2nd CSC Super Junior Invitational Meet held on 5 and 6 August was a resounding success. This event had surpassed the number of registration expected and further propelled our junior swimmers’ standing amongst other clubs. I would like to congratulate Swim CSC for retaining the much coveted title as the Overall Champion. My appreciation also goes to the dedicated team of Swimming Coaches who are instrumental in grooming our young swimmers. Happening on 29 and 30 September is a Korean themed event, “Kamsahamnida” which means thank you. Join us for a wonderful bonding time with your family and friends over delectable Korean snacks, and pick up popular Korean products at the bazaar. It is with a heavy heart as I inform all members that Ms Rosalind Tan, General Manager/Secretary of the Club has resigned after having risen from the ranks as Membership Manager, Senior Manager and General Manager over the past two decades. Rosalind has been an invaluable member of the team who helped make Chinese Swimming Club what it is today. It was my privilege to have worked with Rosalind, and I am truly grateful for the 21 years of selfless dedication that she has given to the Club. Rosalind’s resignation will be a great loss for all of us at the Club, and we are saddened to see her leave. Once again, we would like to thank Rosalind for her invaluable contribution, and on behalf of everyone at Chinese Swimming Club, I wish her the very best in all her future endeavours. The Ex-Co wishes to assure members that recruitment process to fill the GM vacancy is underway and we shall update members on the matter in the subsequent issue of this magazine. Last but not least, on behalf of the Management Committee and the staff of CSC, I wish all members and their family a Happy Deepavali. Shalom and God Bless Edwin Lee President 3

SUPER JUNIOR SWIMMING INVITATIONAL 2017 The exciting meet on 5 and 6 August saw an overwhelming participation of 548 swimmers from 39 clubs, including 14 foreign ones from Brunei, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Philippines. The official ambassador of the meet is none other than Olympic gold medallist and King of Butterfly, Mr. Joseph Schooling, who delighted young fans over a book signing session on the second day of the event.
