IMPACT REPORT 2020

THANK YOU. On behalf of Children's Relief International’s Board, missionaries, and staff, we are honored to share the 2020 Impact Report. The pages that follow share highlights of some great numbers, but even more meaningful are the stories of life change—which is the true impact behind the numbers. What you will find is that even in the midst of COVID-19, CRI did not stop caring for those within our reach. Not for a moment. In fact, by God's grace and mercy, we were able to reach more than ever before. CRI's mission is to share the Light of Christ with the poor of our time. As friends and supporters of CRI, these are your stories and numbers to claim. Thank you for the role you played in helping the least of these experience the light of Christ in Word and deed in 2020. You made all the difference.

Jason Pieratt DIS, MACM, MED President of Children's Relief International

Pastor Isaiah and his brother Ananth oversee a complex ministry in the Deep Forest region of India. It includes training pastors, building churches, providing medical care, drilling water wells, and caring for 40 children in two boarding homes. When the pandemic hit, their mobile medical ministry continued to move from village to village delivering
aid each month to between 600 and 800 people.
Our Tessa Grace Nutrition program also treated an
average of 50 infants every month. But the rest of their ministries were closed by the government. Travel was strictly restricted—except for COVID aid. The pastors
were allowed to do distributions to their congregations
via rickshaw and bicycles. One pastor compared their
work to God's care for Elijah in the wilderness: “And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning,
and bread and meat in the evening” (1 Kings 17:6).
We were thankful to be part of this great effort in 2020.

M YA N M A R I don't know how we would survive the 2020 pandemic if not for the generous help of our supporters. Many families who received the rice we distributed are still surviving on it, and the faculties of the Bible school have greatly benefited from the WiFi we purchased for them to conduct classes online. We are grateful to you for your unfailing support. – Lian Thang, CRI Missionary Partner

“We couldn’t wait to write this note of appreciation, because of the timing in which the help for the food distribution has come. We are so thankful for the response, this love has touched many in our village. Yesterday was an emotional day for everyone. As you know we are in the midst of our hunger season, and with COVID-19, it is all the worse. Many in our village do not eat for whole days and rely on drinking a lot of water just to get to sleep at night. Because you remembered us, families will eat, children’s mouths will be full, the sick will no longer take their medication on an empty stomach, and most of all
they will praise the Lord because of you, His people. May God bless CRI and those who helped.” Shared by CRI Missionary Partner, Redson Makwinja, the day after a food distribution in his village.

Pilar arrived excited and nervous! School had re-opened after a long COVID-19 shutdown. We shared hugs of joy and then got right to work writing her name. Soon it
was time to enjoy a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs. “Pilar, will you bless it?” I asked. She froze. She couldn’t remember how to pray! Grabbing her hand, we prayed together. Pilar stared at the floor. “It’s ok,” I said, “remembering to pray can be hard but God never forgets about us, no matter what
we do or how much we pray.” With a shy smile she looked up and asked, “God will never forget me?” “No,” I said, “He will never forget you.” Soon breakfast was gobbled up and we went
back to work writing her name - a name that He will always remember. As told by Jessica Lopez, CRI Missionary Partner

2020 a year like no other COVID-19. This year we raised $198,000 to help over 16,500 people
with regular distributions of food, medicine, and supplies at our 12 projects. Because of you we were able to care for the most vulnerable in Christ’s name. A N E W P R O J E C T. This year we began working with a new national missionary partner, Yazan Fakhoury, in Amman, Jordan. We look forward to featuring this new ministry in the future! A N E W P R E S I D E N T. After 20 years, CRI’s board appointed a new president of
our ministry—Dr. Jason Pieratt. Our founder, Dr. Alan Pieratt, remains as the Chairman of the Board and President Emeritus. 20 YEARS. We celebrate God’s faithfulness as we have had the privilege to care for hundreds of thousands of children and families in the last 20 years. We have grown from one project to a dozen, from one staff member to over 40, and from one program to over 90 total projects, programs, and ministries.
