2024 Impact Report

A LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Friends,

In this 2024 Impact Report, you will witness the fruit of our collective efforts and the lives forever changed by God’s grace. Your faithful partnership has carried us to our 25th year of ministry— climbing the Hill Country of poverty and fighting the Giants of injustice, hunger, illness, and illiteracy in Jesus’ name.

Our mission strategy is built on forming living bridges that unite the local church, donors, and those called to ministry and the missionary vocation. These bridges enable us to climb the hills and fight the giants with strength and perseverance. Last year, we witnessed remarkable transformations. Children found hope, families were restored, the sick were healed, the hungry fed, the widow cared for, and Christians burdened by poverty and persecution were strengthened through your faithful partnership.

Thank you for standing with us in this mission. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we are confident that God will continue to use this work to reach His weakest children and to share His light in Word and deed. Together, let us press forward with faith knowing that the best is yet to come.

With gratitude and hope,

THE ZIMMERMANS

In early 2024, the Zimmermans joined CRI. We are excited to support their work in the Dominican Republic, where they serve Dominican and Haitian refugee children in Jarabacoa and their local church community. They are among nine missionaries who joined the CRI family in 2024, strengthening our mission to share Christ’s light.

KID POWER + TEAM POWER

In 2024, CRI partnered with 39 local churches and 27 short-term mission teams to advance our global mission. Churches like Ridgeview Church (TX) and Lake Ridge Bible Church (TX) raised over $20,000 through Vacation Bible Schools, while teams from Watermark Church (NC) and Anchor Bible Church (IA) served alongside our partners in Malawi and the Dominican Republic. Together, they demonstrated the power of generosity and love in action.

TESSA GRACE:

A LIFELINE FOR CRISTOVÃO

In 2024, CRI’s Tessa Grace Nutrition program supported 382 vulnerable babies, including Cristovão Manuel. When his mother, Isabel, brought him to the clinic malnourished, the Tessa Grace team provided life-saving care. After Isabel’s tragic passing, Cristovão’s grandmother took him in and, through the program, found hope and comfort in Christ. Tessa Grace continues sharing God’s love and transforming lives..

PROJECT LIFE & HUNGER RELIEF

574 WIDOWS

In spring 2024, CRI’s founder, Alan Pieratt, met Maria—a Project Life participant whose smile shone despite hardships. She shared that helping others eased her struggle to feed her children. As the global hunger crisis rose in 2024, your generosity provided 34 emergency food distributions, feeding 34,757 people— including Maria’s children. Project Life also cared for 574 widows, offering dignity, community, and Christ’s love to those most in need.

MEDICAL CARE:

CHRIST’S LOVE IN ACTION

At CRI, we believe our ministry spaces should reflect the love and excellence demonstrated by Christ throughout His ministry. In 2024, donors made it possible to repair and improve the Dondo Clinic and Tessa Grace Center in Mozambique, which serve 3,300 patients monthly. Now, patients receive care in a clean and welcoming environment. Last year, 40,757 patients were treated at Dondo, contributing to 86,891 that received medical intervention worldwide. Your support enables this life-saving work.

WALKING THE FOOTHILLS

The CRI Foothills program in Malawi empowers high school students through tutoring, school fee assistance, and afterschool sports. In 2024, CRI sponsors enabled Atupele to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher by enrolling in college.

628 children worldwide were sponsored to attend school, and 344 adults received spiritual and educational training. Atupele and many others are grateful for your support in building brighter futures.

REACHING THE HURTING:

Evangelism, Homeless Care & Disaster Response

CRI’s local evangelism and homeless care ministry in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, grew significantly in 2024. Led by Joe Steffeck and a dedicated team, the ministry shared Christ’s light through Word and deed, reaching over 1,000 people and leading six to faith. After Hurricane Helene, CRI’s Disaster Response team served hard-to-reach areas in North Carolina, bringing relief and hope. These efforts reached 7,556 people, demonstrating Christ’s love to those in need. Those we reached in our own backyard are thankful for CRI’s support.

7,556 PEOPLE

SAFE WATER & JESUS

In 2024, CRI celebrated the completion of 8 new wells in India, 2 new wells in Malawi, and the repair of 2 wells in Mozambique, providing access to clean, life-sustaining water for 7,648 people. Your support has brought the gift of clean water to thousands, demonstrating Christ’s love and opening doors for hope and transformation.

TEACHING PREACHERS & BUILDING CHURCHES

Even in the midst of war, the need for biblically trained pastors in the Middle East remains urgent. Yazan, CRI’s missionary partner in Jordan, is committed to equipping future leaders with this vital training. In 2024, despite the challenges posed by ongoing conflict, Yazan faithfully taught 34 students at CAIT Seminary in Lebanon, preparing them to lead and disciple their communities.

Through your support, CRI helped build 2 churches and distributed 717 Bibles around the world, spreading the hope of Christ to even more people. In addition, 234 people came to faith or were baptized—evidence of God’s work in transforming hearts and lives. Amen!

BUILDERS OF HOPE:

RICHARD & JESSICA VAN BRUNT

Richard and Jessica Van Brunt are major supporters of CRI who, through their commercial construction business, Van Brunt & Co, don’t just build projects—they build up people and communities. Their dedication has fostered a culture of collaboration and compassion, sharing their gifts with CRI to shine Christ’s light in areas of deep poverty through both Word and deed.

We are deeply grateful for the Van Brunts and for every donor who invested in our mission in 2024.
