Any parent who has managed the day-to-day struggles of raising a child with medical issues will tell you that it can be very stressful. And while Children’s Hospital Colorado focuses first and foremost on healing our patients, we also recognize the critical role of the family in a patient’s long-term health. That is why family-centered care is a critical component of Children’s Colorado’s treatment approach – and one of the many things that sets us apart. With multiple programs and resources to support patients and families, Children’s Colorado threads a family-centered approach to care throughout all aspects of our hospital and mission. It begins with calming, colorful, welcoming spaces in each of our care locations – meant to make an otherwise unpleasant experience as cheerful as possible – and extends to every interaction a family has within our network.
