Child Advocates of Fort Bend is a non-profit agency serving abused and neglected children in Fort Bend County. We do this in three ways: we strengthen the child’s voice, we heal their hurt, and we break the cycle of abuse for children and their families.

We have two nationally-affiliated programs: Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) is a safe place for children who have been sexually or physically abused and are referred by CPS to be seen by clinical staff and receive forensic interviews, clinical family advocacy, therapy, sexual assault exam referrals, case management and court preparation/accompaniment

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) - We are assigned by the courts as the Guardian ad Litem or Court Appointed Special Advocate for every child removed from their home due to abuse or neglect and placed in foster care. CASA’s goal is to have children thrive while in foster care and find them a safe and permanent home.

Accomplishments:

• We are one of a few programs in Texas that has consistently matched 100% of children in foster care with a CASA Advocate.

• We have piloted numerous new services and programs over the years and have become a best practices agency for programs across the state and the country.

• We provide all services free of charge.

Date began: 1991

Children served: To date - over 20,000

Child Abuse Hotline: 1-800-252-5400

The tour is underwritten by the Fred and Mabel R. Parks Foundation

Welcome to our 31th Annual Christmas Home Tour

Welcome to the 31st Annual Child Advocates of Fort Bend Christmas HomeTour! This event has been made possible with the help of more than 800 volunteers in our community. Our generous homeowners, decorators and hard-working committee have spent countless hours getting ready and we hope that you enjoy the homes and that the Home Tour becomes as much a part of your holiday tradition as it has of ours. We appreciate your support of this event which is critical to funding the work that we do. In fact, 94% of all proceeds go directly to programs and services for children who have been abused and neglected in Fort Bend County. As you tour these beautiful homes and view the lovely decorations, I hope that you keep in mind why we need an event like this. In Fort Bend County, and throughout the country, child abuse is a big and growing problem. Some shocking facts about this “silent” epidemic:

• 1 out of 10 children will be sexually abused by the time they reach 18 years old;

• Over 90% of children know their abuser;

• 9 out of 10 children have not told.

Child Advocates of Fort Bend is dedicated to serving children who have been abused. We have helped over 20,000 children since we opened our doors 31 years ago. Since the pandemic, we are helping more children who were victims of sexual abuse than in any previous year and we have had many more severe cases of physical abuse and neglect due to delayed interventions because children were not in school. We also provided services to many more children who were witness to domestic homicide or suicide. This trend is continuing to rise. In fact, over the last nine years, our services provided to children and families have increased by 300%.

Our goal to serve every child in need in Fort Bend County is becoming increasingly difficult due to this huge increase in the number of children reporting abuse. In response, we must expand our services. We are adding more staff, training more volunteers and expanding our awareness and prevention messaging. I hope that you will consider being a part of this critically important initiative. It takes a community working together to tackle this complex problem. Caring people, trained professionals, committed volunteers, and generous donors all play a role in the prevention and elimination of child abuse. Child Advocates of Fort Bend brings this team together to make a real impact. Together we can break the cycle of abuse for the future of our community.

This breathtaking 5400 sq. ft. home in the heart of Alcorn Bend will amaze you. Gutted and completely remodeled in 2021 this traditional home now boasts a southern California vibe. The modern and neutral theme are current with comfort and style, but this family’s rich traditions, special heirlooms and vintage holiday pieces embody the true Christmas Joy shared by the entire family. The downstairs kitchen, dining and living rooms are rich with 20-30+ year collectibles such as Department 56’s original Snow Village, assorted Christopher Radko Christmas plates passed down from generations, and stockings lovingly needlepointed by hand by maternal grand and great-grandmothers. Upstairs you’ll appreciate more needlepointed ornaments on a family tree adorned with homemade ornaments from even the youngest members of the family. Adding the tradition of collectibles is a nutcracker collection started by their oldest daughter who gifts one to each member annually. Sharing the joy in the recently remodeled backyard are the beautiful poinsettias grown at Brookwood Community Home and purchased through a fundraiser. This family wishes JOY to everyone who comes to visit. Enjoy light bites from Dream Dinners, mini-cookies from Michaela Schroeder- home baker and Photos with Santa

This 4400 sq. ft. blend of modern farmhouse and rustic French-country was one of the first homes built in The Orchard on land that was previously wooded pasture covered with old pecan trees. The nostalgia continues with heirloom collections of Lladro Bells, 30+ Nutcrackers, Precious Moments, Dickens & Snow Village houses, Lenox Holiday China and College themed trees. Unique bedroom trees complement each daughter’s style and room décor with navy, turquoise, coral and bling or travel themed with buffalo check and red highlighting multiple guitars and European trinkets gifted from grandparents. The mancave is an homage to alma maters and hobbies of visiting distilleries and breweries. Even the family pup has her own tiny tree with a countdown to Christmas. Before visiting the incredible backyard with gorgeous pool, dining area and kitchen - hop aboard the Polar Express moving through the media room. This holds a special tribute to trains and toy airplanes, from an aeronautical engineer, a hot cocoa bar and silver bells. Remember you must ‘Believe’ to hear the bells ring.

For the first time ever the Christmas Home Tour is showcasing a hidden gem in the Richmond neighborhood of Aliana. Two 6-foot nutcrackers welcome you into this 3900 sq. ft. home where Santa, Frosty, nutcrackers and a multitude of artistic holiday décor await. There is so much beauty to be found in the custom artwork and handmade Santa ornaments from North Carolina pinecones and paper mâché created personally by the homeowner’s sister. A collection of glass ornaments from 25+ years of travel adorn a tree as a glass Christmas charm bracelet. The guest bedroom is rustic and cozy with plaid linens, while the owners retreat sparkles with silver and gold glam including a glistening Frosty relaxing in a bubble bath. Santa has taken over the office as his Workshop and has left his tasks unattended, most likely to appreciate the piano playing from local musicians. Upstairs in the game room is a sports-themed tree and a familiar homage to the Astros. Ask about the special angel wings by the fire and old church votives near the dining room and you’ll understand why Kris Kringle’s eyes are twinkling. Enjoy sweet treats from Southern Ice Cream and a selfie photo spot
