INTRODUCTION Dear scholarship recipients: As we look back on the journey since the ProDIA Association Scholarship Program was established more than 15 years ago, we feel a sense of satisfaction and gratitude for everything that has been achieved over the years. The program was born out of a conviction: education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming people’s lives and contributing to the development of communities. For this reason, the scholarship was never intended solely as a means of helping students complete a college or technical degree; behind every opportunity there was always a greater purpose: to educate young people who, upon completing their studies, could put their knowledge and skills to work for their communities. Today we can say that this commitment has paid off. Many young people have completed their training and have become professionals and technicians in various fields. A significant percentage of our former scholarship recipients have returned to their communities or maintain ties with them that allow them to contribute to their development in various ways. Not everyone has been able to return, and we understand that professional lives lead each person down different paths. However, these results show us that the seed sown more than a decade ago continues to bear fruit. Dear scholarship recipients, receiving a scholarship does not simply mean receiving a benefit; it also means receiving the trust of an institution, your families, and your communities. And that trust deserves to be reciprocated. We are not talking about a financial debt, but about something much deeper: a moral commitment. It does not mean giving up one's own dreams, nor does it mean that everyone must follow the same path; it means not forgetting one's roots and understanding that knowledge and one's profession take on greater value when they can contribute to the well-being of others. Along this journey, you have built Mosoj Richari, which embodies an inspiring expression of that spirit: young people who, drawing on their own abilities and initiative, find ways to contribute to their communities and turn what they have learned into service. This yearbook is, therefore, more than a record of names and experiences; it is a testament to a story that began with the decision to invest in our young people and that continues today through you. A scholarship can change a person’s destiny; that person’s commitment can change the destiny of a community. That is the hope that gave rise to our Scholarship Program and the responsibility that we confidently place in your hands today. With affection and gratitude,
Dr. Ricardo Roca Torres
Board President, Asociación Pro DIA

PROJECTS IMPLEMENTED BY 2026 SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS The Scholarship Program has become a support for access to higher education for young people in rural communities in the department of Puno. During the current year, the young scholarship recipients have demonstrated their commitment not only to the acquisition of academic knowledge, but also to the positive transformation of their communities. The following are the Mosoq Riqchari projects that are being implemented:
Psychology workshops
This community service project is designed to strengthen the social-emotional development, school community, and overall well-being of fifth- and sixth-grade students in the Barrio Progreso neighborhood (Pucara). The program seeks to promote emotional awareness and management, teamwork, self-esteem, personal growth, and positive relationships among students, while including a session designed for parents.
Taking Care of Your Rhythm of Life Promotes primary prevention of cardiovascular disease among adults. The project combines blood pressure screenings, education on risk factors and heart-healthy habits, and hands-on workshops on CPR and how to respond to choking or other emergency situations.
REQSIWAY
The goal is to strengthen the commercial identity and digital outreach of the Wichay Handmade Yarn Association, an organization that brings together residents from five alpaca-raising communities. Activities have included collecting testimonials, assessing digital skills, and creating photographic and audiovisual records, with the aim of raising awareness of the production chain and supporting the promotion and marketing of their products.
3D Printing This community-based project aims to incorporate 3D printing technology into artisanal production, combining traditional knowledge with new tools and establishing the capacity to apply this technology in production processes.
5
Memories That Last A project focused on cultural identity and the preservation of artisanal traditions that compiles the experiences of artisans from the Señor de Exaltación de José Domingo Choquehuanca Association. Through interviews, activities such as the “Tree of Memory,” and individual profiles, the project documents the artisans’ life stories, learning experiences, and traditional knowledge in order to preserve them and share them with future generations, with a digital booklet as the final product.
Ideas That Turn Into Businesses This community service project introduces students at the José Domingo Choquehuanca “Glorioso Nacional” High School to the basics of entrepreneurship and financial education through hands-on workshops designed to turn ideas into potential businesses. The activities foster creativity, responsibility, teamwork, and participation, while providing tools for analyzing problems, proposing solutions, and making simple financial decisions.
Hands that build, hearts that unite
Express Yourself Today
In collaboration with the National University of Juliaca (UNAJ), the grantees participated in the organization of workshops and technical visits for members of the Coarita Association. These activities focused on training in industrial processes.
This project aims to strengthen the public speaking skills and leadership abilities of sixth-grade students. Through participatory activities, voice and articulation exercises, speeches, and leadership activities, students practice speaking with greater clarity, confidence, and respect in front of a group.
Assessment of Air Pollution
EcoMenu
This project assesses the air pollution generated by artisanal pottery kilns and the occupational exposure of the artisans. It aims to measure particulate matter and other pollutants, analyze factors, and evaluate biofiltration as a control measure to make pottery production safer and more sustainable.
The project promotes appreciation for Andean cuisine and the use of local products from the island of Amantaní as part of a sustainable tourism initiative. Activities included a training session, the development of informational materials, and the presentation of a culinary proposal, thereby strengthening the connection between local food, culture, and the tourist experience. 6

Marelyn Careliz Vilca Figueroa Place of study: Universidad de Aquino Bolivia Area of study: Medicine Semester: Fourth
David A. Moghadam Scholarship
What is your main motivation for studying higher education? My main motivation is my passion for medicine. Ever since I was little, I’ve been fascinated by how the human body works and the idea of being able to help people during their most difficult times. There’s also a very personal reason: I want to make my mother proud.
What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them? One of the biggest challenges has been the distance—studying medicine means being away from home and my family, which isn’t easy emotionally. But perhaps the biggest internal obstacle has been facing my own doubts about my abilities. I’ve overcome them by remembering why I started, leaning on my family, and realizing that feeling afraid doesn’t mean I’m not prepared. What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community? In my personal life, the scholarship would allow me to ease a financial burden, buy books and study materials, ensure I have enough to eat every day, and focus entirely on my education without the constant worry about expenses. As for my community, I believe the 12
impact goes beyond myself; when someone from a humble background manages to become a professional, they become an example that it is indeed possible to better oneself. How do you see yourself in five years? In five years, I hope to be doing a medical residency or pursuing a master's degree, working toward a specialty. I imagine myself treating patients, assisting in surgeries, and learning something new every day. What hobbies do you have outside of school? I like playing volleyball; it's an activity that helps me clear my mind, stay active, and spend time with others. Also, when time allows, I travel to visit my mother and my siblings; those moments with my family are very important to me.
STUDENTS FROM CHIJNAYA Oliver Araca Luque Place of study: Instituto de Educación Superior CIMAC Santa Cruz - Juliaca Area of study: Computerized Accounting Semester: Sixth What is your main motivation for studying higher education? My biggest motivation is to get ahead and have a career that allows me to support my family. I chose this major because I’ve always liked organization and numbers, and I see that nowadays everything is managed using systems and computers. Another motivation of mine is to become a skilled professional in the field of business administration in my region. What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them? It wasn't easy along the way, mainly because of financial issues. So I had to work to cover my expenses, and sometimes it was hard to balance my studies with my job. Even so, I managed to get through it, and I've learned to save as much as possible and take advantage of every learning opportunity that comes my way. What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community? For me, this scholarship is a huge relief because it allows me to study with peace of mind, without the constant worry of how to cover my academic expenses. In my community, there is a cheese factory that provides a livelihood for everyone who lives there. I’d like to offer guidance or help them become more formalized, including systems to help with bookkeeping so they can be more organized and have better opportunities. 13
How do you see yourself in five years? I see myself already having graduated and working, or perhaps handling the accounting for several companies. I’d like to have my own business where I can apply everything I’ve learned and—why not?—also help my community by giving talks on taxes and business registration, and by encouraging young people to see studying as something truly wonderful, so they can always stay informed about current events. What hobbies do you have outside of school? I like playing volleyball and soccer, listening to music, and reading nonfiction books and the news in my free time.
