In these pages, you will find stories of overcoming adversity, innovation, and dedication from students who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to their education and personal growth.

PROJECTS IMPLEMENTED BY 2025 SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS The Scholarship Program has become a support for access to higher education for young people in rural communities in the department of Puno. During the current year, the young scholarship recipients have demonstrated their commitment not only to the acquisition of academic knowledge, but also to the positive transformation of their communities. The following are the Mosoq Riqchari projects that are being implemented:

Tourism Revolutionizes All Aspects of Life

Reading Club

This project seeks to revitalize experiential tourism on the island of Amantaní. It proposes training families in the creation of unique and sustainable tourism experiences that strengthen cultural identity. The ultimate goal is to increase the island's appeal, improve families' economic income, and position Amantaní as a benchmark for authentic and responsible community-based tourism.

In response to the progressive decline in reading habits among children, exacerbated by excessive use of technology and a lack of stimulation, this project has set up a dynamic reading club at the Glorioso Centenario school in Pucará. Through fun activities such as theater, drawing, and story creation, the project seeks to transform reading from an academic obligation into an enjoyable activity.

Environmental Station

Little Foresters in Action

A technological innovation initiative that seeks to bring science and electronics closer to secondary school students at I.E.S. José Domingo Choquehuanca. The project consists of designing and assembling a portable station with sensors to measure UV radiation, temperature, and humidity. The goal is to spark interest in technology, encourage the creation of automated solutions to local problems and empower students with tools to address the effects of climate change.

This project trains environmental brigades at the José Domingo Choquehuanca Secondary School in practical silvicultural techniques, from seed germination to planting and managing native forest species. The goal is to transform students into active “reforestation agents,” environmental leaders within their educational community who promote conservation, increase green areas, and replicate their knowledge.

On the Way to My Best Self Aimed at elementary school students, this project addresses the lack of practice of fundamental values (respect, empathy, responsibility) and the development of emotional intelligence. The ultimate goal is to promote the comprehensive development of students, creating a more harmonious school environment and preventing future problems arising from poor emotional management.

Community Hygiene and Nutrition for Anemia Prevention In collaboration with the National University of Juliaca (UNAJ), the grantees participated in the organization of workshops and technical visits for members of the Coarita Association. These activities focused on training in industrial processes.

Responsible Money Management with Smart Finances This project empowers fifth-year high school students at IES Agroindustrial Pucará with practical financial knowledge to achieve economic independence. It uses workshops with real-life examples and accessible tools so that students learn to make informed and responsible economic decisions, positively impacting their future well-being and that of their families.

Solid Waste Management Plan This project implements a formal solid waste management system in a primary school, based on the Peruvian Technical Standard (color coding). It involves the entire educational community (students, teachers, parents) and the municipality, assigning clear roles and responsibilities. Its purpose is to go beyond cleanliness, creating a culture of environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability within the school.

I love my profession, which is why I continue studying so that I can do what I enjoy.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

Academic challenges and limited financial resources. In order to overcome these obstacles, I first had to take the initiative to study and pursue something I am passionate about.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

It will help me a lot to progress and continue studying.

How do you see yourself in five years?

Guiding tourists and promoting experiential tourism on the island of Amantani for my community.

What hobbies do you have outside of school?

Sports such as exercising and playing volleyball.

For my parents and to help in the education of children and adolescents.

Ed Dew Scholarship

What is your main motivation for studying higher education?

My main motivation is to better myself, prepare myself professionally, and thus have more opportunities in the future and be able to support my family.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

One of the main challenges I faced in accessing education was my family's financial situation. I lost my father five years ago, and my mother, who is now in poor health, supports me as best she can, which motivates me even more to keep going. It hasn't been easy, but with effort and my desire to better myself, I've been able to overcome the challenges I've faced.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

This scholarship would have a huge impact on my life. It would be a source of support for me, because it would help me continue studying without so many financial worries, as I have been through difficult times. Sometimes I had to walk home because I couldn't afford 8

the bus fare, but even then I never thought about giving up. In my community, I want to be a source of inspiration for other young people who face the same difficulties or even worse. I would like to support them by sharing my experience, motivating them not to give up, and helping in any way I can so that more people can continue studying.

How do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I see myself having completed my degree, working and helping my family, as well as supporting my community so that I can contribute what I have learned, support young people who, like me, have gone through difficult times, and motivate them not to give up.

What hobbies do you have outside of school?

I like playing chess; it helps me concentrate, think calmly, and take my mind off things a little. I also like going for walks to relax, and sometimes I write a little. I enjoy spending time with my family and listening to music.

My main motivation for pursuing higher education is to grow both personally and professionally. I want to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a career that I am passionate about and that also allows me to contribute positively to my community.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

One of the main challenges I have faced in accessing higher education has been my financial situation. It was not always easy to find the resources needed to pay for tuition, materials, and transportation. However, I overcame this with hard work and organization. I sought scholarships, worked seasonally, and relied on the support of my family. These obstacles did not discourage me; on the contrary, they motivated me to value even more each opportunity to continue learning.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

A huge boost to my financial resources.

How do you see yourself in five years?

A prosperous worker for society.

Mariluz Gabriela Aroni Figueroa Place of study: National University of the Highlands - Puno Area of study: Secondary Education - CTA Semester: Sixth What is your main motivation for studying higher education?

My motivation is to be a professional who helps students become good learners, supporting and guiding them. My other motivation is my mother; I want her to be proud of me for finishing college. Finally, I want to better myself, knowing that I can achieve all my goals.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

The challenges I face are a lack of money, because I don't have the support of my father, who abandoned us when I was 10 years old. But I have to keep going; it's no reason to give up if you want to achieve what you're fighting for.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

The impact is that it supports me with my expenses for food, clothing, transportation, etc. It is a great help to me.

How do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I will have finished college and be working in the professional world.

What hobbies do you have outside of school?

My hobby is playing sports, but I'm also open to finding a simple job that can earn me a little money.

What is your main motivation for studying higher education?

In the future, I hope that my wife, children, and grandchildren will have everything they need, even if I have to endure all the pressure and stress.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

None, personal support.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

It will help me a lot, since my grandparents wouldn't have so much to worry about anymore.

How do you see yourself in five years?

Having a company in my name, transporting products from one continent to another, and a clothing brand that competes with other brands.

What hobbies do you have outside of school?

A little bit of soccer. Lately, I've been reading Marian Schwartz's book “The Liberated Salesperson,” a very good book that has helped me a lot.

I am motivated by the desire to grow personally and professionally. Higher education gives me the opportunity to acquire advanced knowledge and practical skills that are essential in the medical field.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

One of the main challenges I have faced has been financial resources. Tuition fees, books, and other associated expenses can be overwhelming, but even though I have faced several challenges on my path to higher education, I find ways to overcome them. Each obstacle has been an opportunity to learn and grow, and I am committed to continuing on my path toward a career in medicine.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

I hope my work will have a positive impact on the health of the community.

How do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I hope to be at an advanced stage of my medical career, with a degree in hand, clinical experience, and possibly on the path to a specialization.

In five years, I see myself working as a qualified welder, with experience in various projects and techniques.

Change was necessary. For a long time, I was looking for a way to study, but due to financial issues, it wasn't possible. Then distance learning appeared, which allowed me to study. I took my entrance exam and was accepted.

It will be of help in my studies, not only for me but also for my parents.

How do you see yourself in five years?

Finishing my career with satisfaction.

What is your main motivation for studying higher education?

My main motivation is to rise above poverty and become a successful person, so that I can help my parents and contribute to my society.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

The costs of learning something new. I have noticed that money is a limiting factor when it comes to specializing in something or learning new things, such as specialization courses, but I have overcome this with the money I have been awarded with scholarships.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

It will allow me to take new courses to complement my studies, and I will be able to apply applied anthropology to the development of my community.

How do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself working as an anthropologist and helping communities.

My main motivation is my family. They have always supported me, and I want to repay them for their efforts by 16

preparing myself for a better future. I also want to be an example for my loved ones and show them that with hard work, I can achieve all of my goals.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

The economic situation did not always make it easy to cover registration, materials, or transportation costs, but I have overcome this by seeking scholarships. I am now in the Pro-DIA Association Scholarship Program, for which I am very grateful, and I am also working on my own to help with the costs.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

This scholarship would have a very significant impact, as it would allow me to continue my studies without financial worries being an obstacle. Furthermore, in my community, it could serve as an example of what can be achieved with support.

How do you see yourself in five years?

In five years, I see myself as a professional with a degree in accounting. I would like to have enough experience to advise small businesses or entrepreneurs in my community, helping them to better manage their finances.

To get a stable job that will help my family and me.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

I overcame many personal, family, communication, and other obstacles, but in the end, I kept going, and that's how I managed to get into higher education.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

It will help both my family and me financially. In terms of my community, it will help me get to know it better, since every year we develop projects to help the community. Together with the other scholarship recipients, we develop a project that allows us to give talks to community members and thus provide them with guidance and support.

How do you see yourself in five years?

Being a graduate and having a stable job in order to help with family expenses.

What hobbies do you have outside of school?

I don't have many hobbies, mostly just helping out with chores around the house, but it's worth mentioning that I like video games, so that would be one of my hobbies.

My main motivation for pursuing higher education is a deep desire to learn and grow, not only as an academic, but also as a person.

I see myself working in a health center for the benefit of the population.

Anthony Vladimiro Puma Ortiz Place of study: National Industrial Training Service - SENATI Area of study: Welding Technology Processes Semester: Third What is your main motivation for studying higher education?

I watched the welders as they joined the pieces of iron they were welding, and they didn't waste the rusty iron; they revived it into metal.

What challenges have you faced in accessing higher education and how have you overcome them?

A lack of money. Working, improving every day.

What impact do you think this scholarship will have on your life and your community?

My impact on this scholarship would be to become a technical professional with my degree and certification in 3G vertical and 4G overhead. In the community, I will help build playgrounds, repair infrastructure, and recycle used metal instead of discarding it, as well as reuse recovered materials.

How do you see yourself in five years?

A welder working alone in 3G and 4G (vertical and overhead).

What hobbies do you have outside of school?

My greatest motivation is to see myself as an engineer in the future.

The main challenge was always limited financial resources. I worked for two years after leaving school, working alongside my mother so that I could attend university.

Personally, it would motivate me to continue pushing myself to the limit, knowing that someone has placed their trust in my potential. But the real impact goes beyond me: I want my progress to inspire other young people in my community, especially those who, like me, know what it means to struggle from the bottom up.
