Your campus

If you want to work in motorsport, you need to be comfortable around real vehicles, real equipment and the technology that sits behind modern performance engineering.

On campus you will work in exclusive motorsport workshops used for hands-on development, testing and analysis. The workshops house a varied fleet of vehicles used directly in teaching, including our City Car Cup race car, a Formula Renault open-wheel race car, a Yamaha R1 motorcycle and a range of go-karts. This allows you to experience motorsport engineering across different platforms, from single-seaters to production-based racing and two-wheel performance.

Purpose-built spaces support vehicle build, inspection and electrical and mechanical systems work, allowing you

to move efficiently between theory and application. High-spec computer suites run industry-standard CAD and CFD software, supporting design, simulation, and performance analysis.

Team Northbrook Racing

As part of your time studying motorsport with us, you’ll work with Team Northbrook Racing (TNR), our in-house racing team.

TNR races two cars in the Student Motorsport Challenge as part of the City Car Cup Championship, they went back-to-back-to-back in 2022, 2023, and 2024, as they were crowned champions three years in a row and runners-up in 2025.

When racing at some of the premier tracks in the UK –including Silverstone and Brands Hatch – race weekends present challenges that cannot be replicated in the classroom.

By participating, students gain experience in decisionmaking under time-sensitive conditions, technical faultfinding, collaborative problemsolving and effective team communication - all skills valued in the motorsport and engineering industries.

It’s fun, and it teaches you the fundamentals of what you're going to need if you want to progress in motorsport, and I can't really see any better option than that as a groundwork for your future career.

Meet our drivers

Richard Jepp

Richard is one of our two Race Drivers for TNR. He has been with us since 2022 and has a real passion for speed alongside a determination to succeed. He has been the driver to win us our three championships and has also previously raced in the British Karting Championships.

“As I step into my fifth year working with TNR, it has been an incredibly rewarding journey, both on and off the track. We’ve enjoyed a great deal of success as a team and are excited to build on that momentum heading into the 2026 season.” - Richard Jepp

Jack

Jack is a new addition to TNR for the 2026 season. He comes with a great racing pedigree, having raced in the series for a number of years. He comes in to complete the team’s driver line-up ahead of the upcoming season.

Watching the students develop their skills, working together to consistently deliver a car capable of fighting at the front of the grid, is what this programme is all about. The experience they gain from live motorsport events is invaluable and will stay with them throughout their careers, giving them a real head start as they progress into the motorsport engineering industry.

Meet Connor

Connor’s journey at Northbrook College is a powerful example of how far dedication and seizing opportunity can take you.

He began his studies on our Level 2 Motorsport course, progressed through Level 3, and went on to complete both the Foundation Engineering Degree and final year of the BSc Motorsport Technology.

After graduating, Connor secured a role in engine building at a local company, while continuing to support Team Northbrook Racing. Just a year later, he successfully applied for a Motorsport Technician role at McLaren, where he now builds, tests and develops GT3 and GT4 race cars.

My biggest piece of advice would definitely be don’t say no to opportunities. Really put yourself out there. Everyone here on this course is so approachable and friendly, no question is ever too silly to ask.

Graduation

At Northbrook College, graduation is a memorable milestone for every student.

Each year, graduates gather at Chichester Cathedral, a historic and iconic venue in the heart of the city. The ceremony offers a meaningful moment to reflect on the hard work, commitment, and academic achievements attained throughout their studies.

Receiving their certificate on stage in such a prestigious setting marks a significant transition from education to the next stage of each student’s journey. In particular, every ceremony contains hundreds of individual stories, with students following their own paths to graduation. Each of these students will have been shaped by different experiences, responsibilities, and challenges. This day is about recognising every one of these students, as they celebrate their accomplishments surrounded by family, friends and tutors, and look ahead to the opportunities awaiting them in their chosen industries.

It is a proud culmination of their time at Northbrook College and a confident step into their future, be it in professional careers, postgraduate study, or industry roles. Northbrook College, Motorsport Degrees

Enjoying our new look?

We’ve chosen Inconstant Regular by Daniel Brokstad as the new typeface for this year’s university-level course guide. It was selected not only for its distinctive, contemporary look, but because it represents something meaningful: accessibility and inclusivity.

Inconstant is designed with an irregular set of letterforms to help people with dyslexia read more easily. As a college group that places opportunity for everyone at its core, Inconstant Regular felt like the right choice. It supports accessibility while reflecting the uniqueness of our campuses and the diversity of the people within them.

Commissioned by Dyslexia Scotland for their awareness campaign, There’s Nothing Comic About Dyslexia, designer, Daniel, talks through the challenges of beginning the project, researching and learning what makes a typeface legible for people with dyslexia.

A huge range of glyphs and concept entry points were sketched out on how to solve this. Eventually landing on the concept of inconsistently inconsistent, by adding in the different stylistic sets and contextual alternatives.
