Wildcard

We are pleased to announce the Sugar Bars Legacy Sale “Wildcard.” The 1st horse sold in the sale will be a “wildcard.” The winning bidder for the “wildcard” lot will have his/her choice of any weanling in the sale. With no colt in the ring, the auctioneer will ask for bids on the “wildcard”. It will be auctioned in the same manner as every other weanling in the sale, apart from the fact that, no one will know until the bidding is over and the winning bidder chooses his/her weanling, which horse has actually been sold. That weanling must be claimed immediately on winning the bid – and then will be removed from the catalog order. The sale will resume with the remainder of the consigned weanlings in catalog order.

Her sire is one of the ranch’s favorite. He’s one of the ranch’s favorite mounts; ranch raised and loves his job- ranch work: dragging calves at branding, sorting/doctoring cattle, driving cattle and checking wells. When we need an extra mount– he’s one you can pull out of the mares and saddle up. She’s just like him: easy going, an attention hog and bred for performance. To add to this little gal; we introduce her mama, a gorgeous sorrel daughter out of I’m Lucky Today & Kahoola Sparkle. “Lucky” was my boy- we purchased him as an aged stallion; he had such a personality and had such respect for his people. Fireball is a super friendly gelding; he runs to the gate to meet you and loves attention. I have done ground work with him so he knows the basics like tarps, crossing a wooden bridge, picks up his feet and loads and unloads from the trailer. I think with his sweet personality and willing attitude, he could make a good kids project. I bought him at this sale last year and he comes from the Glen and Janet Long program so he is eligible for Sugar Bars futurities as well as Ranching Heritages Challenges.

Cash is a dark bay 9 year old mare that we’ve owned and trained since being a weanling. She is stout, straight, equally proportioned, well mannered, knows her leg cues, neck reins, stops and backs. Cash was patterned on poles as a 5 year old, started on working cow horse last year (very cowy), has been used in the arena/trail classes around 4-H kids, rode and packed in the mountains, moved cattle, roped calves at a branding and as a 3 year old she was ridden by our 8 year old daughter. She doesn’t care if she rides first, middle, or last on the trail and doesn’t mind someone bailing off to shoot elk. Grand fathered into the Ranching Heritage Challenge, 3rd generation Dash For Cash and 5th generation Sugar Bars.
