The focus of my breeding program is to provide predictable Hereford genetics to the commercial livestock industry at an affordable price. By concentrating the genetics of strong bull and female lines and through ruthless culling, I have built a cowherd of females that have sound udder quality, similar body type, and the natural maternal instincts to raise a good calf. The bulls have similar genetic makeup and it sure shows in their uniformity. My goal is to produce bulls of similar type and quality to allow producers to select for multiple sire settings where uniformity in the calf crop is the objective. Sale Format The format of the sale is private treaty on a first-come, first-served basis. The quality of the bulls is deep and if it gets late in the sale season before you decide you need a bull, I will still have quality bulls to choose from. The bulls are reasonably priced and I am willing to give volume discounts. Over the past few years, I have had many customers have me pick out their bulls, and I will guarantee you will like your bulls.

Sharpshooter has been a cornerstone of my breeding program since 2010. He has sired 129 calves with a birth ratio of 99.2 and a weaning ratio on 97 calves of 102. Several of his sons have joined the ranks of herd sires here. W171 is as athletic and sound footed as a seven year old bull as he was as a calf.

The W124 sons have been very well accepted by my bull customers. He sires extra growth, excellent bone mass and correct structure, and overall good eye appeal. He is a trait leader in weaning, yearling, milk and growth, ribeye area and the CHB index. W124 sired 146 calves in my herd with a birth ratio of 101.4 and 113 calves had a weaning ratio of 106.2. Average birthweight of his calves has been around 87 pounds.

Y318 was a top Sharpshooter from the Remitall Precise 212P line that had the top sort of cows the last a few years. He sired tremendous growth, style and capacity. I have chosen some of his sons to carry on his line with calves coming in 2016. Y318 has a high concentration of Mohican Hunter 57H blood in his background.

Z101 is a massive bull in the Triplecrown line that is strong in growth and carcass traits. His mother was a smaller framed Mohican Hunter 57H daughter that produced for 12 years. Z101 marks them well and is having some nice females.

Y452 is a massive herd sire that is known for siring growth and maternal characteristics while keeping the birthweight in check. The extended pedigree of Y452 is loaded with Dams of Distinction and Benchmark Dams. Y452 and HH Triplecrown W124 have the same mother, HH Miss Mark 275N.

Exciting new Sharpshooter son backed by a very maternal and prolific cow family. Z185 had an actual birthweight of 79 pounds and he is passing this on to his offspring with 20 calves averaging a birthweight of 82 pounds. His calves grew well with several top performing sons in the sale offering.

Walleye was a sire that was used successfully on first calf heifers for a couple of years. His females are super thick, moderate framed, and milk really well. His mother is a picture perfect Triplecrown daughter with an ideal udder.

X357 is a horned bull I raised out of HH Dakota Lad T328, a sire I sold to Gary Ringgenberg, Columbia, SD. It is hard to believe that X357 is a six year old sire as he still has a youthful look and travels like an athlete. X357 sires length and frame and stamps his offspring with a stylish look.

Z161 was used on first calf heifers for a couple years. His mother is rising to the top of the herd with a MPPA of 110 and amazing EPDs. His maternal grandmother is the mother of herd sire HH Precise T137.

Leading off the horned Hereford division is SR Sterling 852Z, raised by the Stuber Ranch in North Dakota. Sterling was used with great success on first calf heifers for a couple years. I would expect most of his sons to be used to lower birth weights. His EPD numbers are exceptional in the birth, growth, carcass and maternal traits. His replacement females look impressive with lots of capacity.

Solid marked Dubai son out of a first calf Sharpshooter Y318 daughter that will be suitable to use on first calf heifers. The maternal grandmother, RJ MS Starbck 64P, posted a 105.6 MPPA, a 99 birth ratio and a 126.6 weaning ratio on 10 calves. Longevity and productive females in this bull’s pedigree. Heifer bull prospect.

I gave this bull good notations when I was clipping. He’s a phenotypically correct growth bull. His first calf heifer dam, MPPA 107.2, got him off to a good start with a 118 weaning index. Cow side of pedigree represents some good horned genetics from the late Troy Perman herd.

Light birthweight son of Dakota Lad X357 that should be suitable for use on first calf heifers. His dam, HH Dakota Lady U333, is a herd standout with a MPPA (most probable producing ablility) of 105.8, a birth ratio of 95 and a weaning ratio of 107.6 on six calves. Every single cow in his maternal great grandmother’s pedigree is either a benchmark dam or Dam of Distinction. Heifer bull prospect.

You’ll notice this guy in the pen! Goggle eyed and short marked, he has the cosmetics, muscle, style in a complete birth to growth package. There are many productive cows in this bull’s pedigree. His young dam is well on her way to be a herd matron with a MPPA of 101.5, a 88.3 birth ratio and a weaning ratio of 102.3 on her first three calves. A quick glance of C129’s pedigree tell me he’ll lower birthweights and sire longevity. Every cow in his pedigree has been in production for a long time. Heifer bull prospect.

The Triplecrown daughters are doing an exceptional job here. C134’s first calf mother, HH W124 Sally A124, weaned her calf off at 682 pounds with a 117 weaning ratio earning her a 106.8 MPPA. This was the first set of calves for Sharpshooter Z185 and I am real pleased on how they turned out. They came light birthweight and really grew. In fact, Z185 had some of the heaviest calves. His eight year old dam, HH Lady Pistol T405, has a MPPA of 103.4, a birth ratio of 85.7 and a weaning ratio of 104.3 on seven calves. The cows in C147’s pedigree were in production a long time, indicating their fertility and udder correctness. Should be suitable for first calf heifers.

Here’s another Z185 son that had a reasonable birthweight of 82 pounds and continued to grow as a calf and had a respectable weaning weight of 635 pounds. Many of the cows in his pedigree were in production here for a long time. He has lots of pigmentation and is solid marked.

Here’s a fully pigmented, red-necked Dubai son that is heavily influenced by the Remitall Rita cow family. The Rita’s are known for their femininity, super sound udders, production, and outstanding eye appeal. Should be suitable for first calf heifers. Kepp the daughters.

The Sterling herd sire has been used successfully on first calf heifers his first 2 years and last year he saw several of my best young horned cows. He easily maintains his body condition and has a super gentle disposition. Wow, this guy is a performer! Just an 82 pound birthweight and a 690 pound weaning weight. Performance after weaning has been great. C159 is out of a first calf heifer and he should work on heifers.

Solid marked Z101 son out of a D&M 53H Latitude 102L daughter. Latitude was a bull we used on heifers that was very moderate framed long before the term, moderate framed, was the trend. He really thickened cattle up and put good udder shape on his females. C182 carries on the thickness of the Latitudes while combining the growth of the Triplecrowns. Pretty good set of EPDs on this bull.

Here’s a bull I really like. He’s conservative marked with pigmentation, has solid performance and comes from a great cow family. I’ve always been fond of the Latitude, Howard, Precise, and Hunter cow families represented in C208’s pedigree. Great set of numbers across the board!

C183 is a very good bull with a very unique pedigree. You could say he’s a linebred Mohican Hunter 57H, Remitall Precise 212P, and D&M Latitude 102L. You could overlay the cow side of the pedigree on top the sire side and you basically have the same bloodlines with similar genetics. Solid bred-in consistency in this bull. He’ll be one of the last Y318 sons to sell as Y318 was retired due to an injury.

He’s one of the top performers this winter. The bulls are fed a grower ration to properly develop bone growth and muscle mass. Sometimes if bulls are pushed too hard and not allowed to grow into themselves they develop skeletal, feet, and reproductive problems in the future. Herd bulls don’t get their feet trimmed here.

If you need a little frame this guy is your bull. I was unable to determine the sire of the dam back in 2009 so she could not be registered. Every year she does a great job with her calf, weaning one of the heaviest. After weaning, this calf really does well, one of the top gainers in the pen.

I really liked the Y318 herd sire and I think his daughters are really going to shine. This bull has the backing of a solid Triplecrown daughter with a MPPA of 104, and a sound, functional udder. EPD numbers are hard to beat. I have good marks on this bull.

Good looking bull with pigment around the eyes, red neck and red legs. He’s a horned bull that will sire a great set of fancy calves. The Sterlings and the Dakota Lads are crossing well and the daughters have lots of capacity and volume through the middle. I’ve been slowly rebuilding my horned herd and the young cows look to be very productive.

Here’s another top performing Z185 son that has been getting my attention all summer long. Top side of pedigree follows the Precise 212P line anchored by good uddered, performance oriented females. I’ve been keeping practically every X357 daughter that’s been born. The young X357 daughters are just coming into production and I expect great things when they reach their prime. When you study the pedigree, you’ll find basically a mirror image of the top and bottom side of pedigree with half sister cows. Increase the uniformity of your cow herd by using half sister females.

I’ve got good marks on this bull! Pedigree is backed by functional, sound uddered cows that worked for a living. I like this guy! Walleye was used successfully on first calf heifers and made moderate to smaller females while adding tremendous thickness, capacity, and eye appeal. When I look at this pedigree, the first thing that comes to mind is sound udders. These udders hold up exceptionally well when the cows in the pedigree were pretty old too. Great performance prospect.

I have good marks for this bull. He’s a Sharpshooter that was at the top at weaning and is a top producing bull at midterm. His young mother, HH W124 Triplecrown Y447, has earned herself a MPPA of 110 on her first three bull calves. Purebred, not recorded son of X357 and out of a Remitall Online 122L daughter. I purchased the maternal grandmother, Remitall Marvel ET 150K, at the historic Remitall cowherd dispersal. Both the mother and grandmother are super long, big framed, and big volume cows with ideal udder conformation. This bull will add length to his calves.

All the fall cows calved unassisted and were only checked once a day and never at night. Sometimes we create our own calving problems by checking them too often. Keep the females out of this bull.

Nice, thick bull that traces back to some older, well liked genetics. The three generation pedigree of this bull covers thirty years. You often hear of quickly turning generations in cattle breeding, but if the cows work, why ditch them?

At +40 docility EPD, he is Select Sires highest in that category. He sires super-uddered, big-ribbed, gentle cows. I used Summit through AI on my black and black-white-face first-calf heifers for two years.

The Prototype and Smith & Wesson 249 have a common ancestor in KSU Miss 6I6 3130. 249 was used mainly on the black females to add more solid black replacement females. 249 adds length, growth and a touch more frame to his offspring.

Block Party was used as a clean-up sire on the black and black-white-face heifers for the last couple of years. His calves come light and they are up instantly after birth. He is owned with Amdahl Angus and they have several top sons in the spring sale. They can be characterized by light birth weight, great weaning, performance, structural correctness and a favorable disposition score.

I have used Prototype and several Prototype sons for the past few years. The Prototype females are smaller-framed, are super-easy fleshing, are super gentle and perfectly uddered and wean a goodsized calf. I’ve had excellent results with the Prototypes and have centered my commercial Angus program around them. The Prototypes mostly see the black-white-face females in recent years.
