11 | 68TH ANNUAL OLD GUARD RACE

The Veterans Lakefront Cruise is for 250 Veterans affiliated with Military Outreach USA and is provided by the five yacht clubs that form CASRA, including the Chicago Yacht Club. Each of the five clubs will host 50 Veterans for a 60-90 minute lakefront cruise.

This annual event recognizes Chicago Yacht Club’s 25 most senior members with a race in the Club’s T-10’s.

Pinnacle Yachts is providing power boats to enjoy the breathtaking sunset over the Chicago skyline. Dinner is served at 6:30 followed by cocktails and desserts. Boarding begins at 7:15 for an evening on the water. $55 inclusive, of which $10 will be donated to the Chicago Yacht Club Foundation.

This event combines the Power, Cruising Sail, and Offshore Fleets, as well as any members interested in joining. The regatta includes a number of events for all types of boaters, including buoy racing, distance race, and a casual race for newer racers. In addition, power boaters will enjoy an eventful Poker Run along Chicago’s lakefront.

The “Sweet Home Chicago” Dock party and silent auction will follow the on-water activities.

Volunteers and power boats are needed for this annual cruise. Sight impaired adults join us for a trip along the lakefront and to Navy Pier.
