12 P.M. AT MONROE STATION
Dear Chicago Yacht Club Members and Esteemed Guests,
Memorial Day is a solemn day to honor and mourn all U.S. military personnel who have laid down their lives in service to our country. Chicago Yacht Club’s Flag-Raising Ceremony is a Club tradition that serves to recognize those men and women who gave everything to preserve the freedom and individual liberties we enjoy. Although it is not Veterans’ Day, we also take the opportunity to recognize the members of the Club who have served or are serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces.
Thank you to all our members who join in today as we plan for another year of activities on and off the water that will create lasting memories for all of us.
I extend a special thank you to our members who have helped organize today’s program. Our volunteers continue to be the lifeblood of Chicago Yacht Club.
Sincerely,
Charles Anderson Commodore Chicago Yacht Club
