NEW BAKER LIBRARY EXHIBIT AT HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL CELEBRATES 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF AFRICAN-AMERICAN STUDENT UNION Established in the spring of 1968, the African-American Student Union (AASU), a student club at Harvard Business School (HBS), is marking its 50th anniversary. As part of a year-long celebration, with the help of Senior Lecturer Tony Mayo and his colleagues in the Leadership Initiative, the School’s Baker Library Special Collections has mounted an extensive exhibit in the Library’s north foyer documenting the founding and growth of AASU over two decades, from the troubled times of the late 1960s — in the midst of the civil rights movement, protests against the Vietnam War, urban unrest, and the assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Senator Robert F. Kennedy — until 1990.

Titled “Agents of Change: The Founding and Impact of the AfricanAmerican Student Union, Harvard Business School,” the exhibit, which will run until next fall, focuses on “the powerful mission of AASU members as agents of change…through their interactions with HBS faculty and staff and their activism on campus. The exhibition also showcases and celebrates the accomplishments of black alumni from 1915 through 1990,” Mayo writes in his introduction to the exhibit’s catalog. The exhibition also spotlights the accomplishments of a number of pioneering black faculty members.

IDPH RECEIVES MASSIVE DONATION FOR SYNTHETIC CANNABINOIDS TREATMENT The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has been working with the Bausch Foundation, the independent charitable organization of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, Inc. (Valeant) to secure a donation of nearly 800,000 tablets of vitamin K. The tablets will provide treatment for people who have suffered severe bleeding after using synthetic cannabinoids (spice, K2, etc.) laced with rat poison.

A chemical found in rat poison, brodifacoum, prevents blood from clotting, resulting in severe bleeding. High doses of vitamin K taken over several months can help restore the blood’s ability to clot.

Synthetic cannabinoids are human-made, mind-altering chemicals that are sprayed on to dried plant material. These chemicals are called cannabinoids because they act on the same brain cell receptors as the main active ingredient in marijuana. The health effects from using synthetic cannabinoids can be unpredictable, harmful, and deadly.

More than 150 people in Illinois, including three deaths, have been sickened by the synthetic cannabinoids. Symptoms include coughing up blood, blood in the urine, severe bloody nose, bleeding gums, and/or internal bleeding. MOBILE OFFICE HOURS HOSTED BY DUCKWORTH HELPS ILLINOISANS WITH FEDERAL AGENCIES, BENEFITS THEY MAY NEED MACOMB, IL – U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) recently

hosted “Mobile Office Hours” at the Macomb Public Library in Macomb, Illinois where constituent service representatives from her office were onsite to help Illinoisans with federal agencies and with receiving the Veterans Affairs, Social Security, Medicare and other federal benefits they may be entitled to. Duckworth’s Mobile Office Hours will take place in communities throughout the state over the coming months to offer constituents who may not be able to drive to one of the Senator’s offices an opportunity to meet with her staff closer to home.

At Duckworth’s Mobile Office Hours, constituents can also learn about the federal grant application process, service academy nominations and internship opportunities. Senator Duckworth currently has three offices, one in Chicago, Springfield and Carbondale with additional offices opening soon in Belleville and Rock Island.

Volunteer Week on April 18 by honoring the hospital’s 55 volunteers at its annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon.

Over 60 guests attended, including Advocate Trinity’s longest serving volunteer Martha Wilson, 88, who has shared her time and talents with the hospital for 27 years.

Also among the honorees were Florence Burns, 86, a 20-year volunteer and Dale Benniefield, 73, who joined the hospital’s volunteer force four months ago.

“When it comes to finding ways to spend their days after retirement, we know our seniors have options. We’re grateful that they choose to spend time with us,” said Jackie Rouse, Director of Community Health and Community Health Workers.

Volunteers assist hospital team members in numerous ways. They file records, prepare paperwork in hospital units, deliver mail, help with cafeteria duties and greet patients.

Together, these volunteers contributed over 23,000 hours and community benefits valued at more than $250,000 in 2017.

Laboratory, Emergency, Cardiology, Radiology and Physical Therapy–attended the celebration and presented volunteer team members with a small gift.

“Every day, we see our volunteers’ hard work and dedication that helps to make Advocate Trinity a happy and peaceful setting,” said Community Health Coordinator Rukiyat Lawal.

And while the hospital sees value in its volunteers, the men and women who donate time feel the benefits as well.

Benniefield explained that at one time he made social calls to Advocate Trinity’s lobby because the people were friendly. When a staff member noticed his visits were becoming more frequent, she invited Benniefield to become a volunteer. He has served as a front lobby greeter ever since.

“It’s something to do. I love it and when people come in, I make them feel good,” he says.

Burns, who helps with paperwork in the Same Day Surgery Unit said she keeps coming back because she enjoys the atmosphere. However, the unit’s charge nurse, Renee James, RN, explained that Burns plays an important role Continued on page 5

SBA Celebrates Small Business Week In Pullman Continued from page 1

rain’s Chicago Business is wrapping up their celebration of Small Business Week which began April 30 and will conclude on May 5. A variety of events and workshops relating to owning and operating a small business have been taking place across the city.

This is Crain’s 9th annual Small Business Week celebration and coincides with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) National Small Business Week. Crain’s Small Business Week is the largest educational and business development event in the region for current and aspiring small business entrepreneurs, according to Crain’s.

Small Business Week connects participants

with programs and organizations that support small businesses, like the SBA’s Illinois District Office who will be hosting the Are You Credit Ready event on May 3 at 1000 E. 111th St. in Pullman. The event is co-hosted by the Roseland Chamber of Commerce and will provide information about what banks look for in a small business loan candidate.

“Basically accessing capital is a big issue for a lot of small business owners and we just want them to be prepared and ready when they go into a bank seeking a loan and to make themselves as competitive as possible to get approved for that loan. This event specifically is telling them what banks are looking for, tips on personal creditworthiness, and just telling them what to do and what banks are looking for to help them access a small business loan to either

help them start or expand their small business,” said Jessica Mayle, public affairs specialist at the Illinois District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The SBA is a federal agency that has its headquarters in Washington D.C. but operates out of over 60 district offices across the United States. The Illinois district office is located at 500 W Madison St. in Chicago.

“We provide numerous services, trainings, and opportunities for small business owners to grow their businesses, lift up their communities, hire employees, and live the American dream. Some of the resources we might provide would be counseling, training, and the SBA doesn’t give loans, but we guarantee loans. If you go to a bank and they think you are too high risk, they’ll still give

you a small business loan that is backed by the small business administration,” said Mayle.

The SBA celebrates Small Business Week every year in Chicago and across the country to recognize the hard work of small business owners.

“The goal of the week is to celebrate and highlight the accomplishments of small business owners across the country. They make sacrifices, they work so hard, and they wear all the hats so we just want to remind people that these are the small businesses that are driving our economy and we should support them and recognize those achievements,” said Maley.

What is a Tariff? An Economist Explains

A

global trade war is brewing as the U.S. and China slap tariffs on each other’s products following President Donald Trump initial salvo in March, when he placed less country-specific duties on steel and aluminum. These actions have prompted significant concern and discussion about the wisdom of this action.

As an economist who shares some of those concerns, I believe it’s important to first understand what a tariff actually is and does before we can determine whether Trump’s new trade barriers are good or bad.

TWO KINDS OF TARIFFS A tariff, simply put, is a tax levied on an imported good.

There are two types. A “unit” or specific tariff is a tax levied as a fixed charge for each unit of a good that is imported – for instance $300 per ton of imported steel. An “ad valorem” tariff is levied as a proportion of the value of

imported goods. An example is a 20 percent tariff on imported automobiles. Both tariffs act in similar ways.

Tariffs are one of the oldest trade policy instruments, with their use dating back to at least the 18th century. Historically, the main objective of a tariff was to raise revenue. In fact, before ratifying the 16th Amendment in 1913 and formally creating the income tax, the U.S. government raised most of its revenue from tariffs.

Even so, the main purpose of a tariff these days tends to be about protecting particular domestic industries from foreign competition, alongside raising revenue.

EXAMINING A TARIFF’S IMPACT The impact of a tariff depends on whether the levying country is large or small – not in terms of size but the potency of its trade and ability to influence world prices.

Ghana, for example, roughly the size of Minnesota with a population similar to Texas, is the world’s top exporter of cocoa.

The Netherlands, meanwhile, slightly smaller than New Jersey, is the commodity’s biggest importer. As such, both countries’ trade policies can have a significant impact on the price of cocoa on global markets.

So if the Netherlands were to levy a tariff on imports of Ghanaian cocoa to protect a nascent – and currently imaginary – industry of small Dutch cocoa bean growers, there would generally be three effects.

First, the price of the import good, cocoa, would rise, making it more costly for domestic consumers of the product. This would be bad news for Dutch chocolatiers – the Netherlands

is the world’s biggest exporter of cocoa butter – and citizens – who eat a lot of chocolate.

But it’d be good news for companies in the domestic import-competing industry – the experimental Dutch farmers growing cocoa plants in a greenhouse – because the good they produce is now cheaper than the import, and so the cocoa butter makers would buy more of the local variety.

Second, because the tariff-levying country is large, it drives down the export price of the good in question. So the pre-tariff price at which Ghana can export cocoa to the Netherlands declines, Ghanaian growers and producers make less money, and the country’s economy is hurt. Economists call this a “terms of trade gain” for the country imposing the tariff. Such a tariff ensures that the price of cocoa in the Netherlands does not rise by the entire amount of the tariff.

Finally, the overall volume of trade in the product between the countries involved decreases because the demand for and supply of the good falls.

If the tariff-levying country is small, however, there are only two effects: The good’s price will go up – domestic consumers will pay more, while producers will sell more – and the country’s trade of the product will decline. The action will have no impact on global prices.

BENEFITS AND COSTS For a “large” country, the benefits of a tariff are mixed.

Consumers, whether businesses like Dutch cocoa butter makers or individuals who enjoy a tasty bar of dark chocolate, face higher prices and hence are the losers. The industry being

protected, however, benefits by becoming more competitive and selling more of its wares.

In addition, the government will gain a new source of revenue.

The net effect boils down to whether any gains in the terms of trade are greater than the resulting “efficiency loss” – that is, how much the tariff artificially distorts consumption and production decisions in negative ways.

If the magnitude of the terms of trade gain is larger than that of the efficiency loss, then the country benefits from the tariff. If not, then it loses.

For a small country with no market impact, the terms of trade gain is zero, hence a tariff unambiguously makes it worse off.

POLITICAL ECONOMY OF TARIFFS The fact that a large country can, in some cases, be better off with a tariff has led some to suggest that such nations ought to, when necessary, levy “optimal tariffs” against their trade partners.

An optimal tariff maximizes the difference between the terms of trade gain and the efficiency loss and hence is essentially a “beggar-thy-neighbor” trade policy.

In other words, the problem with such strategic tariffs is that in addition to frequently being illegal, they are not implemented in a vacuum. Aggrieved trade partners are likely to respond with appropriate tariffs or other trade policy instruments of their own.

These kind of sequential “tit-for-tat” actions can easily degenerate into a trade war. This is in part why trade economists are typically against restricted trade and for free trade.

New Report: One in 29 Chicago Commuters Travel 90+ Mins to Work

Illinois Unemployment Rate Dips in March

Department of Employment Security (IDES) recently announced that the unemployment rate decreased by -0.1 percentage point to 4.6 percent in March and nonfarm payrolls decreased by -2,100 jobs over-the-month, based on preliminary data provided by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and released by IDES. The February job gain was virtually unchanged from its initial report. (+15,300 jobs versus +15,200 jobs).

Job growth improved in the January to March period posting average monthly gains of +4,000 jobs, an increase over the prior three-month period (October to December 2017) with average monthly gains of +2,200 jobs.

“The number of unemployed in Illinois is at its lowest level since December 2006 and the unemployment rate dipped to its lowest level since March 2007,” said IDES Director Jeff Mays. “The stabilization of the labor force is also an encouraging sign.”

Since 2005, the share of super commuters nationwide increased 15.9 percent, reaching 2.8 percent of all commuters in 2016, an increase many experts attribute to skyrocketing housing costs.

As residents are priced out expensive housing markets, many may endure longer commutes.

Eight of the ten metros with the largest share of super commuters are in regions surrounding three notoriously expensive cities: San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. In a report -- Apartment List dug into Census data on commute times and transit usage to better understand the rise in super commuters.

Here are some highlights from the report: • In 2016, 152,313 Chicago metro workers endured super commutes, comprising 3.5% of all Chicago commuters • The share of Chicago super commuters has decreased -4.1% since 2005 when 3.6% of commuters were super commuters • Super commuters are more likely to rely on public transportation. 83.5% of non-super commuters in the Chicago metro drive to work, compared to 57.2% of super commuters.

• Low-income commuters disproportionately rely on public transportation compared to their higher income peers, irrespective of their commute length.

Illinois nonfarm payrolls were up +0.6 percent over-the-year in sharp contrast to the nation’s +1.5 percent over-the-year gain in March.

Obama Foundation Announces New Program to Train Emerging Leaders Across Africa CHICAGO – The Obama Foundation today

announced a new addition to its international programs: the Obama Foundation Leaders: Africa. This one-year leadership development and civic engagement program will train and support 200 promising young leaders across Africa working in government, civil society, and the private sector. The Foundation received nearly 10,000 applications for 200 slots.

The Obama Foundation Leaders: Africa program will launch in Johannesburg, South Africa with a five-day convening. The convening will run from July 14 through July 18 and include plenary sessions, problemsolving workshops, and technical trainings that will help these young emerging leaders drive positive change throughout Africa. The convening will also include a town hall meeting with President Obama where he will hear about their experiences and the work they’re doing.

Following the South Africa convening, leaders will remain connected to the Foundation and one another via an online platform where they will engage in topical discussions, access leadership and training resources, and participate in trainings and webinars led by experts and industry leaders.

Obama Foundation Leaders: Africa program will ultimately serve as the backbone of a larger ecosystem of Foundation changemakers across the continent and, eventually, the world, as the Foundation launches similar leadership programs in regions around the world.

FORGIVENESS

A

n important discipline for each of us to practice is forgiveness. Forgiveness is vital to our lives and our thinking in order to move forward in our purpose. Once when talking about forgiveness, Oprah Winfrey said, “Forgiveness is giving up the hope that the past could have been any different, it’s accepting the past for what it was, and using this moment and this time to help yourself move forward.” Inner peace can be reached only when we consistently practice forgiveness.

Forgiveness helps us release the emotional ties that sometimes exist when we feel discouraged, heart-broken, disappointed, and hopeless.

The willingness to forgive is often rooted in our ability to work through the process.

According to Jesus, the process of forgiveness requires that we do it repeatedly. This consistent process of repeating helps to shape the nature and tone of our thinking. Thoughts become things, and influences what enters our lives.

Accordingly, thinking is the gateway to emotion and emotion is the gateway to action.

Other people or maybe even adverse circumstances may have been at the root of your pain, however, we are the ones who control whether we allow that pain to go on. Forgiveness of self and others is important because as long as we neglect to forgive we remain tied to that person and the pain the experience represents to us. When you forgive, you not only release the other person or condition, you also set yourself free from all of the agony and you give yourself permission to heal.

You can get beyond the pain if you decide to move on. You do not have to be held captive by what was done to you in the past and you do not have to feel compelled to punish them or get even in order to get better. A writer stated, “Forgiveness wipes the slate clean, so that other things can come in.”

How many times should you forgive? Until you are completely over it!

Registration Now Open for “The Incredible Shrinking Church 2.0: Where Are the Millennials?” Colloquium R egistration is now open for “The Incredible Shrinking Church 2.0: Where Are the Millennials?,” the annual Spring Colloquium of the Johnnie Colemon Theological Seminary (JCTS), taking place May 17-19, 2018 at the Universal Truth Center for Better Living, located at 21310 NW 37th Avenue Miami Gardens, FL 33056.

“We have an exciting program every year,” says the Reverend Dr. Anna Price, the Seminary’s Provost and the host of the colloquium. “This year we have both a compelling and timely topic with an exceptional panel of presenters and panelists.*” The Rev. Dr. Sheila McKeithen, the President of the Universal Foundation for Better Living, Inc. (UFBL) and the JCTS, will open the Colloquium on Thursday, May 17, with a special welcome to all attendees. Following Dr. McKeithen’s welcome will be acknowledgements by Dr. Price along with an introduction and background of the year’s theme.

Following Dr. Price will be a video presentation by Mitchell Walthour Jr., a filmmaker-activist and a co-coordinator of this year’s event. “My presentation is a fusion of current research regarding my generation – Millennials – which I’m sure is going to ruffle some feathers,” the 29-year-old laughs. “I will use data to shine a light on who my generation is and what we’re experiencing socially and economically. I will also go a step further to link those social and economic failures to the church. I also don’t shy away from the racial element either.”

Mr. Walthour’s video will be followed by a new friend to the UFBL and the evening’s keynote, the Rev. J. Edwin

Bacon, author of “8 Habits of Love” and a national voice on Oneness of all, Faith, and Justice. Recently named a Soul Teacher on Oprah’s “SuperSoul 100” list of awakened leaders by Ms. Winfrey herself, Rev. Bacon will present on the following topic, “It’s The End Of the Church As We Know It and I Feel Fine.”

Following Rev. Bacon’s address, we will hear again from Dr. McKeithen, as she introduces a clip from a focus group she moderated with a the youth in Kingston, Jamaica, as they discussed their views on the church. After the showing of the clip, Dr. McKeithen will end the evening with her key findings and concluding remarks.

Friday, May 18, the Seminary welcomes the Rev. Dr. Joshua Mitchell, the Minister of Youth and College Students at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, and author of the newly released book, “Black Millennials and the Church: Meet Me Where I Am.” “Not only has he produced original research on this subject, but Dr. Mitchell has experience with college-aged members at his church, which is vital to discuss, as churches often lose their youth when they head off to college,” says Dr. Price. Dr. Mitchell will present remotely.

Friday evening continues with Dr. Joan Muir, a licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Executive Director of the Brief Strategic Family Therapy® Institute at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Dr. Muir will offer the psychology of Millennials, giving us an academic glimpse into the lives and minds of the current generation.

The Seminary is also honored to have with the “Ex-Pastor,” Kevin Wesley,

who will close the evening. Wesley, a Millennial himself, went viral on Facebook two years ago for his public denunciation of his Christian faith.

Wesley will participate remotely and will share his perspective as an ex-clergyman who is now part of the growing spiritualconscious movement to awaken individuals from the spell of religion.

Saturday’s, May 19, program leads off with Michelle Hollinger, a filmmaker, author, and publisher of The Sisterhood; and Tawnicia Ferguson-Rowan, a Faculty Member at both the JCTS and Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens.

Both presenters, fellow Truth Students, will explore this theme in the context of New Thought, offering unique and individual perspectives.

After Rowan’s presentation, all live presenters will be joined by Millennials for a panel discussion to review key points taken from the forum and answer final questions from attendees.

Afterward, participants will come together in break out groups and report to everyone their response to “Where do we go from here?”

The Colloquium is open to the public, and participants may attend live or online. Admission is $30.00 while Admission and a Recording are $50.00. The first night is free to the public and will be live-streamed for free on the UFBL’s Facebook page.

Obituary

Keith Scott Chalmers was born May 19,1981 in Chicago, Illinois, to the union of Keith and Shelia Chalmers. He was affectionately called Scott and was the second child to this union.

Scott attended elementary school in Matteson School District 162 and Rich Central High School District 227. Scott attended Moraine Valley and Kishwaukee Community College. From his studies he received numerous accreditations for PC computer technician. Scott entered the work force at Fox Valley Internet, the Edward Don & Company. Scott created his own company, NewStar Networks-this was his passion. He was a great asset to his community, providing his customers with internet service and building long lasting relationships. Scott was baptized at an early age at New Birth of Love Missionary Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois.

Scott came into this world a fighter. He was a "Cuddle-baby", loved hugs and snuggle time. Scott was so smart. We would say a genius! He began reading at three years old; writing his own mini-adventure books at the age of five, with titles like, "The Herculoid Christmas!" At a young age, he would dismantle many of his sister's electronic devices- some of which would actually work when he put them back together. He was outspoken and would engage you in a debate on numerous topics. The challenge was real! He spoke his mind and was always ready to offer you his opinion, especially with regards to political events.

He loved computers, music, Starcraft, computer games; new and old, his parents, siblings, friends, family and his fur-babies.

Scott was an amazing uncle. He cherished his nieces and nephew and was a bid kid with all kids.

Scott preserved through his various health adversities; diabetes, 6 strokes, kidney failure, kidney transplant, aches and pains.

He was determined not to be labeled disabled. Even with the limitations to his mobility, he pushed through. Everyone who knew Scott, knew about his trains and his accomplishment of constructing a complex system of tracks on the ceiling of his living room. It was tremendous sight!

He would bring his self-proclaimed world famous monkey bread to many family functions. All of these characteristics are just a snapshot of Scott. His smile was infectious, his brilliance was intriguing, and his hugs are forever heart-warming.

Selfexecuting Contract/Security Agreement in Event of Unauthorized Use: By this Copyright Notice, both the juristic person and the agent of said juristic person, hereinafter jointly and severally "User," consent and agree that any use of STEPHEN OLIVER COBB® other than authorized use as set forth above constitutes unauthorized use, counterfeiting, of Secured Party's common-law copyrighted property, contractually binds User, renders this Copyright Notice a Security Agreement wherein User is debtor and Stephen Oliver Cobb ® is Secured Party, and signifies that User: (1) grants Secured Party a security interest in all of User's assets, land, and personal property, and all of User's interest in assets, land, and personal property, in the sum certain amount of $500,000.00 per each occurrence of use of the common-law-copyrighted tradename/trade-mark STEPHEN OLIVER COBB®, as well as for each and every occurrence of use of any and all derivatives of, and variations in the spelling of, STEPHEN OLIVER COBB®, plus costs, plus triple damages; (2) authenticates this Security Agreement wherein User is debtor and Stephen Oliver Cobb ® is Secured Party, and wherein User pledges all of User's assets, land, consumer goods, farm products, inventory, equipment, money, investment property, commercial tort claims, letters of credit, letter-of-credit rights, chattel paper, instruments, deposit accounts, accounts, documents, and general intangibles, and all User's interest in all such foregoing property, now owned and hereafter acquired, now existing and hereafter arising, and wherever located, as collateral for securing User's contractual obligation in favor of Secured Party for User's unauthorized use of Secured Party's common-law-copyrighted property; (3) consents and agrees with Secured Party's filing of a UCC Financing Statement in the UCC filing office, as well as in any county recorder's office, wherein User is debtor and Stephen Oliver Cobb ® is Secured Party; (4) consents and agrees that said UCC Financing Statement described above in paragraph

"(3)'' is a continuing financing statement, and further consents and agrees with Secured Party's filing of any continuation statement necessary for maintaining Secured Party's perfected security interest in all of User's property and interest in property, pledged as collateral in this Security Agreement and described above in paragraph "(2)," until User's contractual obligation theretofore incurred has been fully satisfied; (5) consents and agrees with Secured Party's filing of any UCC Financing Statement, as described above in paragraphs "(3)" and "(4)," as well as the filing of any Security Agreement, as described above in paragraph "(2),'' in the UCC filing office, as well as in any county recorder's office; (6) consents and agrees that any and all such filings described in paragraphs "(4)" and "(5)" above are not, and may not be considered, bogus, and that User will not claim that any such filing is bogus; (7) waives all defenses; and (8) appoints Secured Party as Authorized Representative for User, effective upon User's default re User's contractual obligations in favor of Secured Party as set forth below under "Payment Terms" and "Default Terms," granting Secured Party full authorization and power for engaging in any and all actions on behalf of User including, but not limited by, authentication of a record on behalf of User, as Secured Party, in Secured Party's sole discretion, deems appropriate, and User further consents and agrees that this appointment of Secured Party as Authorized Representative for User, effective upon User's default, is irrevocable and coupled with a security interest. User further consents and agrees with all of the following additional terms of Self-executing Contract/Security Agreement in Event of Unauthorized Use: Payment Terms: In accordance with fees for unauthorized use of STEPHEN OLIVER COBB® as set forth above, User hereby consents and agrees that User shall pay Secured Party all unauthorized-use fees in full within ten (10) days of the date User is sent Secured Party's invoice, hereinafter "Invoice," itemizing said fees. Default Terms: In event of non-payment in full of all unauthorizeduse fees by User within ten (10) days of date Invoice is sent, User shall be deemed in default and: (a) all of User's property and property pledged as collateral by User, as set forth in above in paragraph "(2)," immediately becomes, i.e. is, property of Secured Party; (b) Secured Party is appointed User's Authorized Representative as set forth above in paragraph "(8)"; and (c) User consents and agrees that Secured Party may take possession of, as well as otherwise dispose of in any manner that Secured Party, in Secured Party's sole discretion, deems appropriate, including, but not limited by, sale at auction, at any time following User's default, and without further notice, any and all of User's property and interest, described above in paragraph "(2)," formerly pledged as collateral by User, now property of Secured Party, in respect of this "Self-executing Contract/Security Agreement in Event of Unauthorized Use," that Secured Party, again in Secured Party's sole discretion, deems appropriate. Terms for Curing Default: Upon event of default, as set forth above under "Default Terms," irrespective of any and all of User's former property and interest in property, described above in paragraph "(2)," in the possession of, as well as disposed of by, Secured Party, as authorized above under "Default Terms," User may cure User's default only re the remainder of User's said former property and interest property, formerly pledged as collateral that is neither in the possession of, nor otherwise disposed of by, Secured Party within twenty (20) days of date of User's default only by payment in full. Terms of Strict Foreclosure: User's non-payment in full of all unauthorized-use fees itemized in Invoice within said twenty- (20) day period for curing default as set forth above under "Terms for Curing Default" authorizes Secured Party's immediate non-judicial strict foreclosure on any and all remaining former property and interest in property, formerly pledged as collateral by User, now property of Secured Party, which is not in the possession of, nor otherwise disposed of by, Secured Party upon expiration of said twenty- (20) day default-curing period.
