In downtown Hyde Park located on 5206 S. Harper Ave., Frontline Bookstore is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. As one of very few blackowned Pan-African bookstores in Chicago, the bookstore offers a rare collection of books written by black authors featuring subjects like natural health, spirituality, African history, Rastafarian history and theory, metaphysics, black empowerment, hair care, and children’s books.
