T

he ‘Coalition 2 Build the Lucas Museum’ in a recent press conference announced their support for the Lucas Museum. In 2014, Star Wars creator George Lucas announced plans to bring his museum to Chicago after San Francisco rejected his initial proposed location. Plans for the lakefront museum were quickly halted when the advocacy group Friends of the Park filed a lawsuit preventing Mayor Rahm Emmanuel from gifting Lucas with 17 acres of park land near Soldier Field.

iHeartMedia Chicago, 107.5 WGCI-FM, V103 and Inspiration 1390AM will hold a public salute to celebrate the life and legacy of Radio Veteran Doug Banks. The event will be held on Saturday, May 21st at the Harold Washington Cultural Center, located on 4701 S. Martin Luther King Drive in Chicago and is being hosted by hosted by Joe Soto, V103; Ramonski Luv, V103; DeDe McGuire, former “Doug Banks Show” Co-Host ; DeeDee Renee, former “Doug Banks Show” Co-Host and Bonnie DeShong, former “Banks & Company” Co-Host . Doors open at 10:00a.m. The salute will be held between 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p. m.
