Support our Summer Concerts
Letter from the Board
Ihave had the honor and privilege of chairing or co-chairing the Chesterfield Regional Chamber’s Summer Concert Series for the past seven years. It is a great way I give back to the community — and, for me, it signals that summer is here. We kicked off our 34th annual summer concert series in Faust Park on June 1 with Butch Wax and the Hollywoods and our traditional season-opening fireworks. We were blessed with great weather, but even better was seeing a lawn full of neighbors, friends and fellow community members enjoying the simple pleasure of gathering together on a beautiful summer evening. Our concerts will continue every Tuesday of June, July (no concert July 6), and August. Each week features a popular local band, food trucks, concessions, Chamber member sponsor booths, the Bubble Bus, balloon twisting, face painting, and dancing under the stars — all for just $5 per person. There is no restriction on the number of attendees this summer — so come out and join us! We extended from our typical 10 concerts to 14, including one concert on Friday, Aug. 20, with two bands. The $15 price of admission for this special concert will benefit the Chamber and A.R.C. Angels Foundation, a wonderful Chamber member dedicated to preventing youth suicide through education and awareness. For our first 32 seasons, admission to our summer concerts was free. We were proud of our ability to provide excellent entertainment — and a venue for showcasing our Chamber businesses — at no cost to our community members. Last year, when St. Louis County restricted attendance due to the pandemic, we began selling $5 tickets to limit turnout and offset the costs of the masks and PPE we were providing. Again we were excited to offer some sort of “normal” safely to our community. Heading into this summer, we had restrictions from the county in order to be approved and had to charge again. We are realizing that concertgoers are happy to pay a small fee for a fun night out — and we are facing budget shortfalls in continuing to provide quality community entertainment — so we may have to make the decision to continue charging a small admission fee going forward. community members may not be aware that the Chamber receives no financial support from taxpayer dollars for our summer concert series. Our concerts are made possible through the support and generosity of our Chamber members and volunteers, our business community, and concertgoers who continued to show up — even in a pandemic! We are so grateful to the local businesses who, with their financial and in-kind support, make it possible for us to continue hosting this beloved summer tradition for the Chesterfield community. Supporting our concerts is one way they show they appreciate our community. In return, please shop local — and support, promote and shop Chesterfield Regional Chamber members. See you under the stars!
