WORLD AIDS DAY in DALLAS
By Cheryl Smith Publisher
A true legend
Sometimes you just never know the impact you are having on others. You never know who is watching you and what they are thinking. And today, with cameras everywhere, your actions and even inactions are shared in places you’ll probably never even visit. If given the chance, hopefully you will be able to reach out to that someone who made a difference in your life and share your appreciation. Some impacted your life directly by writing a letter of recommendation, giving you money for school or your first apartment, or whipping your butt when you were out of order.
The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) partnered with its Dallas affiliates--AIDS Outreach Center (AOC) and the Access & Information Network (AIN) in a fabulous World AIDS Day event starring Diana Ross and featuring performances by Teyana Taylor and Keke Wyatt at the Bomb Factory, on November 29.

McGough elected to National League of Cities Board City of Dallas Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Adam McGough (District 10) was recently elected to the Adam McGough 2020 National Dallas Deputy Mayor Pro Tem League of Cities (NLC) Board of Directors during the Congressional City Summit in San Antonio. This is a victory for our city and our region as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem McGough begins this two-year board service alongside local elected officials from across the country. The National League of Cities, founded in 1924, is the oldest and largest national organization representing municipal governments across the United States. NLC’s mission is to strengthen and promote cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and governance. Election to the board required the sole endorsement of a candidate’s local council, the endorsement of their State’s Municipal League, and the endorsement of the NLC nominating committee, consisting of 15 elected officials from across the country. “It is an honor to have the opportunity to represent Dallas and the interests of all cities, towns, and villages on the national level.
