To design for a photographer persona with a plot locating near Dover Mrt

The Frame House

Project Info

This Dwelling project is to create a dwelling space for different plots located near Dover mrt. Meanwhile needing to put in consideration of my cilent who is a full-time and professional photographer.Along with her contrasting needs of wanting a personal spaces while also wanting a gallery to display her work.

Concept

To desing a dwelling adresses cilent needs of wanting a open space to promote more opportunities to display her works within the dwelling while having a need to have a personal spaces to tune out from her hectic lifes.

Thus, the concept of framing specific views to display to public while also framing certain view to be able to keep certains space disconnected

Site Analysis

Eventhough, the plot have some unfavourable site condition. But there are some opportunities,in which the plot have it can be unitlized to maximise the potential of the plot.

Overall Design

The concept of having a open floor plan, promote circultion resulting in the first floor of the dwelling to be very well circulated to allow visitor to be able to make visual connection with the user works consistently. The use of many full height opening not only helps with bioclimatic aspect of the dwelling helps to allow simple circualtion throught out the whole dwelling.

It also helps making the whole first floor seems all are connected in a way or another. This allow the paint and photo gallery to allways be part of visitor spatial journey.

As the framing of view concept is apply both exteriorly and inteiorly but with 2 different intent . while for exterior frame it uses to highlight the gallery within the dwelling to outdoor public The use of interior framing is intent to bring visitor attention away from private access to the upper floor which is mainly used by the owner of the dweling. This give assurance for the owner that none of the visitor will be able to access to her personal spaces.

This is required due to the openess first floor which could result in occassion of visitor accidentally trespass to the owner’s personal spaces.

First Storey Plan

The First Storey being the place where most people gathers and group together.This is also have event such as when visitor like client will come and visit the tenant gallery. The open concept layout can be clearly seen, the whole space is being interconnected with a centeral courtyard provide a core circulation it provides a ease of circulation throughout out the whole whole first storey allow spaces to be linked

Second Storey Plan

The second storey is a very different spaces as compare to the first storey as this space is solely meant for the tenants with consideration of not wanting to share her own personal spaces with others. This space is important to provide a space that disconnect her from the first storey.

SECTION A-A

The section marks as the entrance on the dwelling the layout of having the everything insight at the point of entrance it allows places to be recongnised easily at the point of entry. Spaces like Gallery. kitchen and photoshooting spaces can be been seen at a the very point of entry.

SECTION B-B

This section shown the different spaces being connect by the central courtyard, this allow simple circulation between the varies space within the dwelling. The disconnection of the private space of the tenants can also be seen as the master bedroom is isolated from the sotrey below with it own private balcony.
