However, achieving high TPS is not without trade-offs. The classic blockchain trilemma—balancing decentralization, security, and scalability—remains a significant challenge. Increasing TPS might compromise decentralization or security, depending on the approach taken. Therefore, developers and researchers continuously explore novel techniques to optimize TPS while maintaining the core principles of blockchain technology.
As we look towards the future, the quest for higher TPS will likely drive further innovations in blockchain technology. From sharding to directed acyclic graphs (DAGs), the landscape is ripe with potential solutions.
