Enzymes vs. Probiotics in Cleaning

Enzymes

Enzymes are proteins produced by bacteria. They cannot propagate or multiply.

They are highly specific - an enzyme is only effective if it matches the specific type of dirt or stain it is designed to break down.

The enzymes cut up their specific soil into little bits to break it up, but the soil bits are still left there and must be wiped or washed away.

Enzyme cleaners have a limited number of enzymes in the formulation, and once they die out, the cutting up action stops.

Probiotics

Probiotics are living microorganisms, also known as the good bacteria.

They produce thousands of different types of enzymes, which allows them to break down and consume a broad range of soiling.

They adapt to the cleaning environment, producing the right enzymes in the necessary amounts, then completely degrade and eliminate organic waste molecules.

The enzymes cut up their specific soil into little bits to break it up, but the soil bits are still left there and must be wiped or washed away.

Probiotic cleaners continue working long after application, until soiling is consumed (up to 72 hours after application).

How to Use Bio-Fresh Pro Cleaners

Application:

Simply apply the cleaner to the surface and allow the probiotics time to work. Depending on the level of soiling, it may take several hours or days for the enzymes to fully break down and eliminate the dirt.

No Rinsing Required:

Bio-Fresh Pro cleaners are designed to save time and water. There’s no need to rinse after application as the probiotics will continue to work on the surface.

Avoid Mixing with Other Chemicals:

Do not use Bio-Fresh Pro products in combination with chemical cleaners, especially bleach or quaternary ammonium compounds, as these can kill the probiotics and reduce effectiveness.

Live probiotics produce enzymes that initiate the cleaning process by targeting soil and grime. These enzymes act as biological catalysts, enabling the breakdown of organic matter.

Soil molecules attach to specific enzymes through a lock-and-key mechanism, ensuring that only the right type of enzyme works on each type of soil. This process prepares the soil for breakdown, making it easier to remove.

The enzymes break down the soil molecules into smaller, more manageable components. This decomposition allows for the effective removal of dirt, grease, and other organic residues, making the surface easier to clean.

Once the soil is broken down, probiotics consume the smaller molecules as a food source, effectively eliminating them from the surface.
