Chematur Engineering can provide everything from design to start up.
TECHNOLOGY LICENSING
DETAIL ENGINEERING
We are an independent licensor of proprietary technologies. This means that you have full control of your own plant and that you can act independently on the market.
How can roads be built? How shall cabinets be mounted? Every single detail has to be perfect. From time to time we take full responsibility for Detail Engineering and in other cases it is performed by a local engineering company under our supervision and final approval.
BASIC ENGINEERING In this engineering stage all main calculations, simulations, design work and basic drawings as well as the detail process design are performed.
PROPRIETARY EQUIPMENT When constructing a plant special equipment is crucial for the function. We provide this proprietary equipment, inspect the equipment during production and take part in the delivery.
TRAINING, COMMISSIONING AND START UP We train our customers’ personnel in how to operate the plant. We deliver a complete set of operation and safety manuals as part of our scope. Commissioning is the step where we test the performance before the final Guarantee Test Run. When everything works perfect we hand over the plant to the customer.
TECH SERVICES, STUDIES AND REVAMPING We always support our customers. In our Technology Centre we conduct tests to analyze the performance of our customers’ chemical plants. We also offer remote monitoring, which means that we are able to view the whole process from our office.
Chematur Engineering has resources in all disciplines needed.
The laboratories are equipped with the most modern analytical equipment.
You name it, we test it
To design the best possible plants for our customers’ needs, we have our own state of the art development centre – the Chematur Engineering Technology Centre. The Technology Centre consists of advanced laboratories and pilot plant units for our own research and development as well as for support to our customers. The laboratories are equipped with the latest analytical equipment such as FTIR, GC, HPLC and GC-MS. The pilot plants include: A bench scale continuous pump nitration unit including the washing section. A CSTR hydrogenator capable of operation at up to 140 bar pressure. A state of the art bench scale phosgenation unit for optimization of our TDI and MDI technologies as well as for development of new phosgenation products.
NO SHORTCUTS TO SAFETY In the Technology Centre new processes are developed and existing processes are tested and refined. We also conduct complex analyses of our customers’ products. Furthermore we educate and help you to develop and equip your own laboratories. The Technology Centre allows us to make sure that the final process and products are efficient and safe. We never gamble and there are no shortcuts to the highest level of safety.

FLEXIBLE FOAM for use in bedding, furniture, automotive and many more applications. RIGID FOAM for insulation in buildings and household appliances. CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers) applications offer a broad spectrum of high performance solutions. OTHER APPLICATIONS include footwear, textiles, fibres and apparel.
Polyurethanes – an important and growing family of polymers which is produced in tens of millions of tons each year. They are produced by polymerisation of a diisocyanate with a polyol.
An important type of polymer The diisocyanate is typically produced from basic raw materials via nitration, hydrogenation and phosgenation. The two major diisocyanates are MDI (Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) and TDI (Toluene diisocyanate), but aliphatic diisocyanates such as HDI (Hexamethylene diisocyanate) IPDI (Isophorone diisocyanate) and H12 MDI (Methylene dicyclohexyl diisocyanate) play an important role in applications where colour stability is of importance, for example coatings. We can supply technologies for all major products in the Polyurethane field, including necessary subsystems and waste treatment processes. The major product lines are plants for TDI, MDI and HDI. In addition to complete TDI, MDI and HDI complexes, we also supply Aniline, DNT and TDA plants as separate units.

Hydrogen Peroxide HYDROGEN PEROXIDE / SODIUM PERCARBONATE
8
Hydrogen Peroxide is an environmentally friendly chemical. We offer plants to produce it by the well-known anthraquinone process. Our technology is state of the art with high yield, capacity and quality.
An environmentally friendly product Hydrogen Peroxide is primarily used as a bleaching agent in the pulp and paper industry replacing chlorine. Furthermore, it is a key raw material in the production of bleaching agents for laundry detergents, such as Sodium Percarbonate and Sodium Perborate. It is also used in waste water treatment, synthesis of organic peroxides and in the medical and cosmetic sector.

INKS, PAINTING ADHESIVES AND COATINGS Acetic Acid is commonly used as a solvent and as raw material for many products. ASPIRIN AND EXPLOSIVES Acetic Anhydride is a raw material with many applications. GREEN BOTTLES Bio Ethylene is a renewable raw material. POTABLE OR FUEL ALCOHOL Bio Ethanol is used for blending with petrol as well as production of alcoholic beverages. COSMETICS AND PHARMACEUTICALS Ethyl Acetate is a colorless liquid used as solvent.
Efficient Bio Ethanol production Bio Chemicals consist of several different organic chemicals with non-fossil origin, which are biologically degradable. Our offering in this field is an efficient Bio Ethanol production. Our plants are based on the continuous BiostilÂŽ process, which can be used to convert sugar or starch based raw material to Bio Ethanol with high yield and excellent quality. We can offer Bio Ethanol for a variety of applications such as fuel additive, ENA-grades and potable alcohol. From Ethanol a number of downstream products can be made such as Bio Ethylene, Acetaldehyde, Acetic Acid, Acetic Anhydride and Ethyl Acetate. Bio-based hydrocarbons are excellent substitutions to petrochemical products when a renewable feedstock is desired.

Supercritical CO2
CAFFEINE FREE COFFEE Supercritical CO2 can be used to extract the caffeine from the coffee beans.

Supercritical Carbon Dioxide technology utilises carbon dioxide in its supercritical state as a powerful, inexpensive, non-toxic and environmentally friendly solvent. The tasks can vary from extraction of desired or undesired substances in a compound, to its use as a solvent to carry out continuous reactions in an efficient and selective manner.
A powerful and non-toxic solvent Supercritical Carbon Dioxide extraction technology has been developing since the early seventies. Large scale applications are found in the field of natural products such as extraction of hops for beer manufacturing and decaffeination of coffee beans. As a solvent it has several advantages. It is naturally occurring, inexpensive, colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-flammable, non-ozone depleting and non-toxic. In addition it has gaseous like diffusivity, viscosity and complete miscibility with gases. It is one of few solvents that can be unrestrictedly used for food processing. The market is divided in the following areas: Extraction processes to produce high quality nutraceutical flavour and fragrancies Extraction processes to remove undesired compounds such as corkstoppers Degreasing Debinding in the Powder Injection Molding industry Dry cleaning Reactions
FOOD PROCESSING One of the few unrestrictedly useable solvents. DEBINDING Recyclable CO2 instead of furnace.
