WELCOME to The Cheltenham Trust’s What’s On guide for July to December 2024 which highlights the exciting schedule of events at Cheltenham Town Hall, Pittville Pump Room, The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum and Leisure at Cheltenham.

Whether it’s music, entertainment, comedy, exhibitions and workshops, children’s sports fun or free events in the park, The Cheltenham Trust offers something for everyone to enjoy.

There’s a stellar line-up of comedians including Rhod Gilbert, Rachel Parris, Ed Gamble, Jimmy Carr, Simon Evans, Nish Kumar, Sara Pascoe, and Russell Kane.

The season’s spoken word events include everyone’s favourite Irish author and presenter Graham Norton, travel journalist and presenter Simon Reeve, Will Young, ABC’s Martin Fry, mountain bike legend Gee Atherton, and Aled Jones.

Britain’s Got Talent finalist Cillian O’Connor brings his first live show, Gareth Gates performs the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, there’s music with Scouting for Girls, John Barrowman, and Gareth Malone, who will create songs on the spot.

There are musical tributes for all tastes from Bon Jovi, David Bowie, the Bee Gees, The Beatles, Take That, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie, and Shania Twain, to Fleetwood Mac, Coldplay, George Michael, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Abba and Mike Oldfield, Van Morrison, and Luke Combs, among others.

The Cheltenham Trust hosts its summer programme of free events and annual Christmas lights switch on at Pittville Pump Room, follow us on social media to keep up to date with what’s happening.

The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum hosts Radev including works by Picasso, Modigliani, and Vanessa Bell. And for our younger audience, there’s family friendly activities and events including summer art explorers, spooky Halloween events, and Leisure at Cheltenham’s popular sports holiday camps.

All shows can be booked online and you can opt for e-tickets and simply show your tickets on your smart phone when you arrive at the venue. Early booking is recommended and we look forward to welcoming you. The Cheltenham Trust

Bar and café opening times

Cheltenham Town Hall : The bar will be open at least one hour before the start of an event and during the interval. The Regency Café is open for select Main Hall events, opening at least one hour before the start time of an event and during the interval. Our bar and café serve hot and cold drinks as well as sandwiches, salads, bagels and cakes.

Jimmy Carr: Laughs Funny

If you like fast-paced, edgy one-liners then Jimmy Carr is your man. Jimmy tells jokes, and jokes are like magnets. Jokes attract people, but they can also repel, and some people are repelled by Jimmy’s dark brand of comedy. This show is not for them, but if it’s the kind of thing you like, then this is the kind of thing you’ll like. Age 16+

Simon Evans: Have We Met?

After finally solving the mystery of his existence and identity in Work of the Devil, Simon’s new show finds him ruminating on the daily challenge of trying to remember things, like what he went upstairs for and when he bought that new pair of shoes. Age 14+

FineSteps Summer Ball

Saturday 20 July 2024, 7pm

FineSteps Summer Ball is coming to Cheltenham Town Hall for an evening of ballroom and Latin dancing. There will be professional demonstrations and a charity raffle for Charlie’s Cancer Support Gloucester.

Celebrating 30 years on the road this year, The Bon Jovi Experience is back with a new production for 2024, recreating the magic that defined an era with electrifying energy, transporting you back to the heyday of stadium rock. Silent Disco In Incredible Places

A Silent Disco like no other is coming to Cheltenham, with an 80’s twist under a giant glowing moon. Expect some of the UK’s best DJs of the 1980s playing all your favourite tunes in the stunning, illuminated surroundings of the town hall. Age 18+

As with the original Bee Gees, Jive Talkin’ is very much a family affair, with brothers Gary and Darren Simmons as Barry and Maurice Gibb, and Darren’s son Jack as Robin Gibb. Supported by a four-piece band, expect all the hits from Jive Talkin’ and Stayin’ Alive to Tragedy.

Cillian O’Connor: My Magic World

Britain’s Got Talent finalist Cillian O’Connor is taking his first live stage show on tour. The Planets, celebrating Holst’s 150th birthday

Gareth Malone: Sing-along-a-Gareth My Life Through Song

Join Gareth for a joyous evening of song, together with his band and singers. ETickets

From September 2024, we are going 100% paperless and will no longer be providing printed tickets. This will help us to reduce our environmental impact and become more sustainable. Most customers already opt for our e-tickets. These are sent directly to your inbox when you make your booking online. E-tickets can also be purchased on the door on the night of the show, depending on availability, payment is by card only.

You can show your e-tickets on your mobile phone, or tablet, when you arrive at the venue for your event, where they will be scanned. If you wish to print your tickets at home, you can select this option when making your booking online.

There is a transaction fee of £2.50 per booking when buying online or over the phone. Some events listed in this brochure with a bold title may be subject to a £2 ticket commission fee included in the price of the ticket.

Tickets cannot be collected in person on the day of an event, but can be booked online as etickets/ print at home. Tickets can also be posted to you for a fee.

Show times listed are start times. Our venues open one hour before an event starts, so why not arrive early and enjoy a drink in one of our event bars?

Parking

There is a Pay and Display car park at Pittville Pump Room and there are several public car parks within walking distance of Cheltenham Town Hall.

Disabled bookings

If you are disabled and/or require a carer to accompany you to an event, please advise customer services at the time of booking. Concessions are available at some events to disabled customers, and complimentary tickets for personal assistants. If you need help with transport or parking, please tell us – if we cannot help, we may be able to put you in touch with someone who can.

The town hall is one of the first in Cheltenham to introduce the Ask for Angela scheme, where anyone feeling they are in potential danger or in an uncomfortable situation can discreetly alert staff that they need help by asking for Angela, a fictious member of staff.

Terms and conditions

Tickets cannot be exchanged nor money refunded, except in the case of a cancelled event.

We reserve the right to change artists or programmes as necessary.

Latecomers will only be admitted into the auditorium at a convenient break in the performance.

Please ensure that mobile phones are switched off before entering the auditorium.
