Purpose

TheTechnicalManagerplaysacritical leadershiprolewithintheCheltenham Trust’sEventsteam.Theyareresponsible formanaginganddeliveringalltechnical aspectsofliveevents,performances,and privatehiresacrosstheTrust’svenues, primarilyCheltenhamTownHalland PittvillePumpRoom.

Theywillensureexceptionalproduction values,maintaintechnicalfacilitiesand equipment,andleadthetechnicalteamto deliversafe,efficient,andhigh-quality technicalsupportforawidevarietyof activities.

TheTechnicalManagerworks collaborativelywithintheEvents ManagementTeamandalongsidethe Operations,Facilities,andFrontofHouse teams,aswellasvisitingcompanies, artists,andpromoters.

TechnicalManagement

Leadalltechnicalaspectsofproductions,liveperformances,corporatehires,and eventsacrosstheTrust’svenues.

Managetheeffectivedeliveryoflighting,sound,staging,AV,andrigging,ensuring alltechnicalelementsmeetindustrystandardsandclientexpectations. Produceandmanageproductionschedules,technicalriders,andevent documentation

Workcloselywithvisitingcompanies,promoters,artists,andinternalEvent Managerstoassessandmeettechnicalrequirements.

Providehands-ontechnicalsupportwhererequired,includingoperatinglighting, sound,andAVequipmentaswellasassistingwithload-ins,fit-upandload-outs.

TeamLeadership&StaffManagement

LinemanageandcoordinatetheTechnicalTeam,ensuringeffectiverotaplanning andworkloadmanagement.

Recruit,supervise,anddevelopapoolofcasualandfreelancetechnicalstaffand contractors

Fosteracollaborative,supportive,andhigh-performingteamculture. Managementofandreportingonthetechnicaldepartmentbudget,including equipmentmaintenancecosts,andstockcontrolofconsumables.

Health&SafetyCompliance

Taketheleadontechnicalhealthandsafetyacrossvenues,ensuringcompliance withlegislation,riskassessments,andsafesystemsofwork.

Maintainaclean,orderlyandorganisedbackstageareaincludingtechnical workshop.

Ensurecompliancewithvenuelicenses,statutoryobligations,andindustrybest practice.

Provenexperiencemanagingtechnical productioninliveevents,performingarts,or entertainmentsectors

Strongpracticalknowledgeoflighting,sound, AV,stagemanagement,andrigging. Demonstratedleadershipexperiencein managingtechnicalteamsorcrews.

Excellentplanningandorganisationalskills, withtheabilitytomanagemultipleprojects andmeetdeadlines.

Clearandconfidentcommunicator,ableto collaborateeffectivelyatalllevels.

Up-to-dateknowledgeofhealthandsafety legislationandindustrybestpracticein technicaloperations.

Apractical,hands-onapproachwiththeability toproblem-solveunderpressure. Acommitmenttodeliveringexcellent customerserviceandstakeholder engagement.

Computerliterateandconfidentinusing MicrosoftOfficeandeventmanagement systems

Soundknowledgeofbudgetcontroland managementofincomestreams.
