EDITOR

Ihad expected to be dazzled as I walked through the Turbine Halls at Battersea Power Station, with their vast ceilings, subtle lighting and rows of gleaming new shops. What I had not expected, was to feel so moved. Forty years after the lights went out at one of London’s most iconic landmarks, here it was, an industrial giant brought back to life. So much of its old character remains, from steel girders to lovingly restored brickwork and art deco tiling. It is London regeneration at its fi nest: respecting its past, inspiring its future. In this edition, enjoy our focus on Battersea – I urge you to take a look if you haven't already! Plus there’s our luxury gift guide, festive recipes from top chefs and mixologists, and property sales of the year. Have a wonderful Christmas in the capital!
