OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE CRUISE INDUSTRY WINNER LY N N N A R R AWAY Born in Sheffield, one of three sisters, Lynn Narraway grew up in Chester. At the age of 12 she went abroad for the first time and, two years later, she flew on a plane.

This kick-started a lifelong love of travel.

After leaving university, Lynn spent three years working as a travel agent, then joined American Airlines in Switzerland before working at ILG Holidays, where she was instrumental in launching the world’s first ever ‘cruise-and-stay’ programme.

In January 1999 ILG Holidays was purchased by the Carnival Corporation and Lynn was employed to head up the new UK office as Managing Director UK of Holland America Line and Carnival Cruise Line. Then, in November 2011, she was appointed MD of Seabourn and Holland America Line’s joint office in Southampton.

Lynn spent two years as chair of the CLIA Executive Committee, and in 2013 she was awarded with the CLIA Outstanding Achievement Award; in 2014 she was voted as one of the top 60 women in the travel industry by the Association of Women Travel Executives.

An active Lady Taverner, Lynn uses her business connections to good effect, working with key travel partners to donate auction prizes to the Lady Taverners Organisation and raise funds for disadvantaged children.

In December she was involved with the donation of a second 16-seat wheelchair accessible minibus, with funds raised by Seabourn via the Lady Taverners charity.

Lynn enjoys mentoring and developing members of the Holland America Line and Seabourn teams. She is also a firm believer in giving students work experience, and gives talks at schools and universities whenever she can, especially about the role of women in business.

Lynn and her husband Paul recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary, and the couple have two 8 student daughters who both love cruising.
