Jefa steering

Jefa Steering has developed a new electric wire steering system, o ering customers an “easy to install wheel complete with all controls and components included”. They say the system can be standalone or installed between an existing autopilot and a Jefa Drive Unit. As you only need electrical wire connecting the wheel to the drive units, it makes for “a very simple install and is ideal for those looking for an additional steering position”. The system is designed for keelboats and small yachts where a mechanical system is not suited, LOA 20ft to 45ft.

Dartmouth Gin

Produced by the owner of the Cockwells pilot cutter, Merlin, Dartmouth Gin was named Craft Gin of the Year 2018 and is distilled in Dartmouth, Devon, “very slowly” to produce a remarkably smooth, full-fl avoured spirit that ensured the recent pontoon party at British Classic Week, sponsored by our sister title Classic Boat, went with a bang. It comes in a handsome bottle, carved to depict a replica of the wrought-ironwork on St Saviour’s Church door in Dartmouth, showing the two leopards of Edward 1 and the tree of life.

We can testify to the deluxe quality of these Sailor Socks from Seasalt Cornwall. Wuzzo gilet made from plastic bottles

New brand Wuzzos has made its mark with deck shoes and is now expanding with polo shirts and these soft shell gilets, each one manufactured from 12 discarded polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles. The bottles are cleaned, crushed, chipped, melted and then extruded into thread which is spun into yarn for knitting. The zips are also made from recycled plastic. There is an inner microfl eece fabric layer, which is also 100% recycled polyester, providing warmth. The outer has a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating. The cut is slightly longer than some gilets, with a smarter look overall. We liked them so much we’ve got some branded up and have been wearing them ashore and afl oat this summer. Recommended!
