O

n behalf of Independent School Parent magazine, I am delighted to welcome you to the Independent Schools of the Year 2019 awards ceremony, supported by Bupa Global.

The awards were launched to provide independent schools with a platform to showcase the wonderful and diverse student experiences they offer. The response from schools has been remarkable, with more than 500 nominations received over the two years since the awards were launched. The independent judging panel was overwhelmed by the inspiring stories submitted by schools. It is evident that the sector is thriving and across all areas, including academic excellence and pupil wellbeing. Thank you to all 150 schools who have taken part in the awards this year. I hope you all have a wonderful evening – congratulations to our winners! DR HELEN WRIGHT, CHAIR, INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS OF THE YEAR JUDGING PANEL
