Established in 1971 as Friends of the Sea Lion, Pacific Marine Mammal Center is the only center in Orange County licensed to rescue and respond to sea lions, seals, sea turtles, dolphins, and whales. We respond to 52 miles of coastline, from Seal Beach to San Onofre State Beach.
MISSION
Pacific Marine Mammal Center inspires ocean stewardship through marine mammal rescue, rehabilitation and medical research, STEM education programs and advocacy for a healthy ocean.

EDUCATION & VOLUNTEERS
Our educational efforts reached 49,286 children and adults with programs including college classes, field trips, camps, after-school activities, and our worldwide distance learning initiative providing insights into marine mammal ecology, conservation issues, research, and ocean stewardship. Our vibrant community of volunteers exceeds 260 dedicated individuals who serve as the heartbeat of our organization.
THE NEXT WAVE –BUILDING A BETTER OCEAN
Water Reclamation — By reclaiming an estimated 5 million gallons of water per year, PMMC will be contributing to water conservation.
