CARMEL COLLEGE
Carmel College, located in Thornlands, delivered the Certificate II in Health Support Services for the first time in 2022 For the staff at the college it was as much a learning curve for them as it was for the students Feedback from all involved was that the pilot year of delivering the Certificate was rewarding and interesting With the support of registered training organisation Connect ‘n' Grow and their trainers, the College's two teachers Kristy Wilkinson and Natalie Falvey successfully delivered a great program All current students are progressing on to the Certificate III in 2023 and the College already has a new cohort of eager students keen to enrol in the Certificate II
For many years, at least a third of the College's year 12 graduates have gone on to study and work in a healthrelated field, so it is very exciting for the teaching staff to be able to deliver this program on-site Two students were also fortunate enough successfully gain valuable traineeships in health this year Dahlia Geesu has been working with the Mater on the Deadly Start Traineeship Program and Keely Lake was able to secure a traineeship placement with the local area hospital The College is incredibly proud of both students' achievements
